Thread: That name has violated the content filter...
the filter is absolutely silly, it forces me to spell "wookiee" wrong, and i don't think it likes "enhanced" either... don't remember all the words i tried that didn't work, but there were tons

Does anyone know if there is a way we can get our hands on what isn't allowed. I wanted to name my vendor "Over the Counter Meds" or at least just "Over the Counter" but it's not allowed. Neither is "OvertheCounter Meds" or "OvertheCounter".
Not only Counter, Country, County, etc...
This filter is really odd, since the only thing i can see being offensive within these words is the four letter C word.
The filter has odd behaviour, and certainly shouldn't claim that failures are due to obscenity, but a few general rules seem to let you pick something that will work.
The obvious "dirty words" are prohibited as are many (but not all) variations on them.
It won't allow use of "reserved words" that are used by the systemfor items, professions, races, ranks, titles etc. This seems to include more than currently used, butthings that are likely possibilities.
Punctuation seems to be limited to hyphens and single quotes -- possibly periods too.
I havn't seen a lot of failures staying within those constraints, though new "reserved words" regularly suprise me. It gets easier with experience, but it doesn't make the kind of sense you can document.
I think they apply the same base algorithm to the text that they use to validate BE pets on call :-)

And actually it is Lucas Arts that controls the StarWars liscence and these filters not SOE.
I was going to suggest trying OTC but then I'm a pharmacy assistant IRL so I have to know what it means ![]()
