if you can't pay maintenance the vendor should (but I think it's broken now) get deleted when it reaches 0cr.

cross server trades.

how many players will go on another server, spend time to grind merchant (and artisan) for another one ? I wouldn't do that.

They wouldn't if it meant that they had to go to that server and stock it as well. However, with admin rights, many would.

Skilling up Merchant is passive, you get exp just from having merchants up. It wouldn't be that much of a hassle to skill up Merchant on a few other servers. Give admin rights, and then it's short-term pain for long-term pain.

Never under-estimate or best against various players desires to find a loop-hole and buck the system. You'll lose every time.

well as I see it, reading your arguments, we'll see cross server merchants anyway...

Without the Admin rights, PlayerB will have to constantly visit Player A's server, meet him, pick up his items and place them onto his vendor for him. He will then need to log back on again and /banktip Player A the money, keep up the maintenance on the vendors, etc. and then repeat.

99% of the 'cross server trades' that happen are one shot deals. "Dump all these harvesters here/Here is your painting, thanks for the 500K" etc. My outline above requires a few more 'trips' but nothing that needs anything more than for you to log on near a Merchant Trainer, train up whatever you can then immediately log off again. 2 min investment max.

A constant maintenance of a set of vendors would require a great amount of work as well as trust in the other player. What if Player B just puts up the vendors, gets his 1M creds then walks away? Now Player A has 6 vendors he has no use for (since he can't put anything on them).

I am sure that there is some limited cross server vendoring happening even now - between close friends who, for whatever reason, don't play on the same server. Give admin rights to someone else and bam! It would go completely out of control.

As stated by others - place one item on your vendor for 99M, drop in a month's worth of maintenance and yer covered. No need for changing anything.
