Thread: Occasionally someone totally empties a vendor but doesn't buy...help devs
Doesn't the 'vendor puchase unsuccesfull...'
Sound like the email you get when the item expires off the 30 day list?
if he has 2 pages worth of items, do you think he is just getting clumps of the items at the expire?
I am unable to reproduce also.

The same has happend to me saw. And I have been able to duplicate what you describe as well...i don't know how the others missed it but it is easy to do....i went to a friends vendor and started the purchase but failed to retrieve it and he got the same message that you described. I got the same message myself in the past but i was able to discover that it was someone that had it in for me being the jerk i thought they were to begin with...it is probably someone who dislikes you trying to torment you. When they aren't bugging you they are probably out pulling the wings off of flys.
When you say "Failed" to retrieve..what do you mean exactly.. do you mean you just didn't try? Or that you aborted it some how?
I'm not able to get this to be a grief tactic since I'm getting paid the second they hit buy.. not sure why this is different. Are these NPC vendors or droid/terminal vendors?

I wasn't able to duplicate this. How are they aborting the sale so that it goes into your stock room?
It didn't make sense to me either. The only possibility I can think of is that he has only a couple of items on the vendor and people are leaving the buy window (orthe buyconfirmation box) open and the item isn't visible for a while. It would be logical for a "purchase pending" item not to be listed as "for sale," ticket reservation systems usually work that way.
I don't know whether there really is a lock on a record, and wondered what would happen if a second buyer purchased it while I was deciding to push OK. I assumed this wasone cause of the "Item no longer exists" failures on retrieval where you get your money back instead of the item.
just a suggestion for testing..
have you tried it with either your bank or your wallet empty...i dont know which one the vendor takes funds from
anyway --- i dont know if this is related...
My emails are occasionally different with unsuccessful sales and i have never been able to determine the cause...
Sometines i get an N ie N Auction Unsuccessful meaning not read i suppose
Occassionally i get a U ie U Auction Unsuccessful meaning unread i suppose

Yea except for the post about being able to duplicate it at will. I await further data on this before I can present it to the devs. So far I hvaen' t been able to figure out how to describe how you create this issue.

"N" would be New, "U" would be Unread (you'd get that as Doc described), "R" is Read.
Unread.. yea well that does make more sense.
