When someone buys an item and COMPLETES the sale you know who bought what from which vendor...but if they stop the purchase midstream and go awa you don't know who did it. An item or two done this way i can understand...i think i am even guilty of it....you know something else comes up during the purchase and you leave and accidentally don't complete....BUT...somebody on a semi regular basis is emptying one of my vendors and not completeing the sale. And since you don't know who initially moved the item out of your "store front" they can completely empty your vendor without being traced..I wish the DEVS would fix this....it is a hassle to have to go back to that vendor and reload all of the sales items that are in limbo land.....alll they have to do is identify the person that initiates the sale and this crap would stop....Does anybody else run into this

all they are concerned about here is if your empty vendor gets removed from the map....

I wasn't able to duplicate this. How are they aborting the sale so that it goes into your stock room?

Yea but I assume he would be getting flooded with emails so I am assuming not for now. Anyone know how to duplicate this? I tried opening the buy window and then leaving the area causing it to close..that didn't work. I tried aborting the "procesing" window but that didn't do anything and I ended up with a cafe table I didn't want!!

I wonder if you disconnect while you have the buy window open if it gets confused and puts the item back in stock instead of on sale?

Hmmm what if you don't have the credits to buy it...

*shrug* I dunno.

First the amount of items on the vendor shouldn't matter...but for the record most of my vendors have two pages...it goes like this..i will be say on Lok....and i will get a message saying vendor puchase unsuccesfull...and it will be my Naboo vendor(I know this because i was at my Lok vendor the last time this happend)the message doesn't even specify which vendor...and when this person is doing this...it goes on and on until quite a few of the items have been unseccesfully perchased....all you have to do is go to a vendor, buy, that is your first click...and then you are supposed to go the next page to retrieve the item...if you don'[t retrieve the item then that is where it stays and there is no record of who did it unless they complete the purchase....on the rare occasion this happens on the public vendor as well...just don't complete they buy and walk as described above and walla...an unsuccesful purchase....or an item was puchased unsuccessfully...it is easy to duplicate.

The same has happend to me saw. And I have been able to duplicate what you describe as well...i don't know how the others missed it but it is easy to do....i went to a friends vendor and started the purchase but failed to retrieve it and he got the same message that you described. I got the same message myself in the past but i was able to discover that it was someone that had it in for me being the jerk i thought they were to begin with...it is probably someone who dislikes you trying to torment you. When they aren't bugging you they are probably out pulling the wings off of flys.

Hmm.. My impression was that the seller gets paid, and gets the email, as soon as the buyer clicks the buy button. I know my bank account gets debited then. The item is then sitting in "available items" until it is either picked up or poofs.

I have never seen "an unsuccesful purchase" email. I know that a couple of times I have left items in vendors and started home before realizing I forgot to pick it up. When I went back, it was there. On the bazaar, I have bought off planet items where it was days before I picked them up.

Could it be that you have a customer, even more forgetfull than I, who is buying things and letting them poof? And the email about that event is going to you? The expiration would be occuring long after the purchase. If he emptied your vendor, it was a week earlier, maybe 30 days on a vendor.

You say the item is going into your stockroom? I wonder if the purchaser got a refund? That would be nice, one of the worst thing about remembering late and going back to pick up an item I didn't retrieve is wonderingwhether ther arethings I have bought and let poof!

If that is the case, they were certainly not trying to grief you. They were saved from having griefed themselves by yet another undocumented feature.

It can't be a forgetful customer unless he normally buys say 30 skill tapes and then whoops! walks away like an idiot...and it happens on a regular basis. One or two items yes it could be a forgettful customer and no it is not a week or month earlier as on more than one occasion i had just finished with the vendor and left the general area. so the vendor had the stuff. I had dealt with the stuff in some instances just moments before it occurs.........If the Devs would simply transmit the name of the person when he initiates the buy...not whenhe consumates it this would cease to be a problem...It happens instantly. Thank goodness at least ONE other person that has responded to this post has been through the same thing...i will eventually catch the person...I feel it is someone i know that has bought them selves a new avatar. Another plus about transmitting the customers name as soon as the sale is initiated is that in the case of the truley forgetful client you could /tell them and they would be very happy that you reminded them of the item they forgotto retrieve from the vendor. It seems that any merchant would want the name of the person buying the item instantly as well. I don't see that as a problem...some of these responses don't seem to be coming from true merchants...please read DEV

I always get paid as soon as they purchase the item, regardless of whether or not they retrieve it from the Stockroom or not.

Yes I just tested this and I get the same thing. The second I click "Buy" and confirm the price the email gets sent and I am charged. I'm not able to reproduce this. I need additional information on how this is done.
