I can't fight the NS's because one attack will eventually bypass my armour and insta-gib me, i can't get of my vehicle without warped in excess of 150m, but Spammers can broadcast their crappy wares on their vendor's to bother everyone ...... and just to think this clam is in place of the combat rebalance ..... anyone else really pissed at SOE

I can give you a workaround for the warping... (Wave before you dismount..you won't warp)
And the droids only speak once every 60 seconds and they don't "Yell" AND they are limited to 128 characters and their battery dies fairly quickly.
So .. no I"m not really all that pissed at SOE.
I'm not pissed either, but an option to ignore the droids would be greatly appreciated. *flashbacks of coronet starport on Ahazi* EEK, someone sell me earplugs O.o
heyyyyyyy
I don't ignore anyone..check your spelling.....besides..I dropped DE about 4 months ago ![]()

Doc... I think merchant barker is semi-broken.
My droid will be silent for like 5 minutes, and then say the message 5 times in a row really fast
I'm following it around the cantina... no message... no message... no message... and then "LA LA LA LA LA BAMBA" x 5!
It's because the droid is activated much like vendor barking is - the droid goes off when someone enters proximity. It's actually a relatively small area, which is what makes this great for Starports. You can set it off to the side, and people pass by enough to keep it going most of the time but you don't have to stick it in the middle of everything.
That's why you get the delay between barks, but the true "spam" barking is another matter. It only usually happens to me when there are either a TON of people around, or it's on patrol mode. I'm sure there will be a hot fix soon that hard caps the droid over-riding all other proximity settings.

I haven't actually seen my do this. It seems to only bark every 60 seconds no matter how many people wander by in between but it goes silent if no one passes by.. are you sure it wasn't just lagged?
I ran one today for several hours in a starport off to the side as AO just suggested it seemed to work pretty well but I wonder how many of the people it barked at were loading and never saw it ![]()

Yeah, it seems to be happening very reliably. Like, likerally 4-5 spams in the spatial right in a row - that would be hella client lag (and wouldn't appear in the chat box the way it does). Now, it may be server-side lag in the AI, but it's definately going out into the game world as several stacked messages at the same moment. It appears to everyone that way (verified).

That's true, but I've found that at Starports it might not reach the person who it is intended for, but enough people around can see it. A really good position is just outside the Starport to either the right or the left against one of the walls, I have found. The people running in the corridors inside set it off outside so people can see it. If you hide it totally, however, remember to include the waypoint in the text or people won't be able to find you.
I've found most people find them quite neat, and as long as they aren't placed in doorways or other obtrusive areas they are quite effective.
Finally, I have tested a bit more and still, my 3PO lasts a pretty long time if I shuttle away, but my BLL with a barker stores the instant I hit 800m, every single time. It's very odd...

Hmmm...all the tests I ran on TC were with a Protocol droid. It didn't occur to me that different models would have different rules on auto storing. I wonder if that is intended or if the Protocol droid is just bugged.

You need to have Advert 4 to get it to work. Minimum is 4/0/0/0.
Cause i bugged my droid yesterday and pulled out two, and they both shouted at my coustomers....twice each....2 times per second....then the server reset.....#%@#!
