2. New bussiness opportunity...Training Classes: Since people can't spam their availabiliy to train, they have to find a Merchant, or rather a Merchant finds willing Trainers. Players would pay to enter the 'Class' (a house with an entry fee). Merchant could also tailor what is Trained with what is sold in the vendors.

not a good idea

Anything to remove AFK spammers would be a great boon to the game imo. And I can't believe they let it go on this long, personally I think it's harassment to have my spatial tab spammed to death by a bunch of macro users and my ignore list shouldn't grow on a daily basis because of people who can't even be bothered to be at their keyboard and play the damn game.

I'm with ya!! There is nothing in this entire game I despise more then afk players.. It has gotten out of hand, and I view it as an exploit that really hurts the game for those of us who actually want to play it.. And, since I'm in a mood today, I'd just like to point out that I am apalled by SOE's official stance on the afk issue.. I believe it was something along the lines of they have to leave the ability to do it in, because if they try to stop people from doing it, some people will find a way to work around the system.. Apparently they want everyone to have the same oppourtunity to exploit the macro system, nice and fair..

Anyway, I'm all for anything that will reduce afk spamming, and I really like some of the ideas presented here..

I still think my original idea of making people automatically accept a duel if they don't click on the decline button within a certain time limit would solve the problem very nicely..

Personally, I feel there should be a ban on AFK adbarking. If a person is going to put everyone through the grief of having to lag in towns and miss tells because of the spam, the spammers should at least have to be there too.

I'm for a ban on spamming in town. Merchants can advertise on the planetary map and, if you have well-stocked vendors with quality merchandise at a reasonable price, you will get return business from word of mouth.

The way to solve the problem of people spamming for hunting groups being banned is to ban spammers who spam with a waypoint to a certain location.

Excellent point!!! The only responses I can think of is:

1. someone 'Selling' their buffing service can always buy novice merchant

Docs already have to get survey for finding resources...do you want them to get novice merchant too?

2.Docs can always hang out at the Med Facility the same way Dancers and Musicians HAVE to hang out at the Cantina

Doc buffs are approx 10% worse inside the medical facilities...you want weaker buffs?

Haha, Doctors dont have any problem selling their services. Any Master Doctor standingnext to a droid is instantly going to be mobbed with people asking for buffs. Plus a /say in spatial can reach just about everyone you need to reach. Plus, with a timelimit on shouting, the doctor will still be able to /shout toget his message out without resorting to purchasing another skill.

Just thought of something, with player craft being added in the expansion and an array of them being able to take passengers, the odds are that the majority of the player base will use player craft to travel between planets rather than the spaceports. This would remove a massive amount of traffic in the spaceport cities and thus make all afk spamming completely pointless there.

Player craft will also be usable from any shuttleport, so from player cities aswell as npc cities, thus meaning that there will be no focal points on the world as the traffic is spread out across the planets.

Not True at all.....I've been a doctor since I bought the game, and I have NEVER picked up artisan. I hire people that can help me. I don't pay for resources; only information and waypoints, I just get them myself. Plus there are much better ways for a Doctor to make money then buffing..ugg

BLAH BLAH BLAH....take your DROID out; THEN walk into a Med center. Gee what a concept. I've been doing it for MONTHS

Docs don't even need to speak anymore. On the super rare instance I do buff the public, I just put my Master Doc title up, take out a droid and sit down. I don't even speak in spatial unless I'm in a "low-spam" district. Its funny to see how the profession of doctor has changed so much in the passing months, yet not really changes. We went for circle mobs to lines 40 people deep. Nope not me, I will take my leave of that and run missions and get 200% more income.
