It's funny that you mention that because I've been thinking about that for a while.
While it's true that Doc's guide is pretty much the Merchant Bible™ it would be handy to maybe have a list of the questions that seem to be asked over and over and over.
The "FAQ" could give very brief answers to these questions and point to Doc's guide for more in-depth information.

That way the FAQ would work as a complement to the guide rather than a replacement for it.
It would also allow for easy additions of things that may have changed (as if) since the guide was written "a long time ago..."

The guide is great, but is a lot of info for someone with a specific, common question...
I believe in the power of ctrl-f, but I'm all for more info in the FAQ
