Thread: Merchants! READ!

Hey, i was working on merchant but them decided to stop and get some fighting skills. I placed a merchant tent and afew vendors. I was wondering if i dropped all my merchant skills would i still be able to keep my tent and my vendors or would they dissapear? Also would i still be able to put stuff and take out stuff from my vendor without merchant or artisan skills?

You'll keep the merchant tent. They may change this in the future, but for now, you can place the tent, then drop everything and keep the tent.

actually, i just read that sticky... and there was not even a hint of what Toraxx is on about. Perhaps, a simple yes or no is quite the appropriate option here.

You're right. I clickied the wrong sticky. It's in the other one that Pappi kindly linked to though.

An excerpt:
I have all these skills, now what happens if I give them up? If you sacrifice your merchant skills which grant you the ability to place and operate vendors you will be unable to place any new items up for sale until you have the skill to operate the number of vendors you retain. So if you are a Master Merchant and have 12 vendors and you drop your Master skill you must surrender 2 vendors before you will be able to put any items up for sale on ANY of your vendors. The vendor will continue to sell your items to customers during this time, you simply won't be able to put items up for sale until you have either retrained the skills you gave up or removed vendors to get back to the number you have the skill to operate.

This describes how you can't use your vendors. The other sticky (that I originally linked to) describes what happens when you can't use your vendors.

We may need a good general merchant FAQ, in addition to Doc's guide (though almost all of the FAQ's are answered in Doc's guide). But it's a good idea for new merchants to read through the general stickies. Particularly when demanding information with caps and exclamation marks. Someone who says something like "I've read through the stickies, and didn't notice the answer to this" will probably get more of my attention (and apparently better attention) than someone who says "Merchants! READ!". People don't deserve good answers to demands like that. He should be lucky I actually linked to something on the merchant forum...
