No you aren't. You're saying that the SOLE priority for the devs at this point should be fixing poaching, and that adding more tools/functionality/skills to the profession would "destabilize" it because all the professions are nicely balanced right now, with the exception of vendor poaching.
At least, that's what Balki's saying, and I assumed you agreed with him. Did I assume wrongly?

You could have a commodities market in each city.. buy and sell and trade items between them... could work like a stock market type system. I have played other games with similar systems..
and those are just two ideas I would love to see that could grow to be something more important than running vendors.
And while yes there are a few other posts about expanding the merchant profession, most of them are centered on vendors.
They're what I'd call the "back burner". The number one item on your issues list is vendor poaching.
