Thread: Some reasons why vendors should stay after you drop Merchant.
The biggest reason i should get to keep my vendors after dropping the skills is so simple
I STILL PAY ALL THE MAINTENCE....
it is still a money sink.
Merchant is about buying and selling items...not dressing vendors. Having nice looking vendors and shops ADDS to the so-called player content of the game.
All in all, once i have my shop set up, i dont need these skills any more.
Letting us keep the vendors hurts NO ONE and actually makes the game more enjoyable for all.
Having played merchant since Beta, the skills are not really worth keeping. it is mostly about having a vanity shop than really helping you sell merch

Ya know, maybe its not that you have trouble reading, maybe you just havent read this thread all the way through. My insults - justified as they were - came AFTER a corp of people, including yourself, simply refused to (or lacked the ability to) acknowledge the very basic, very simple, very easy point I was making. And all I was doing was pointing out a fact. The skill works exactly as it should according to the game documentation we have available to us.
- and until you see that, and craft your opinions, potential fixes, and ideas around it, you will continue to make absolutely no sense at all. More importantly, you will continue to get no action on the issue from the devs.... as has been the case.
And I will state it again, cause I know even if you did read it, you didnt understand it, I WAS NEVER AGAINST CHANGING THIS. In fact, a few posts up I clearly state that I am leaning toward the notion that changing this skill mod will be a good thing for everyone, not just merchants.
(checks the thread) Hmmmm. Running content check....
Contentstate 1 (addressing any of the various points by those who disagree): Negative
Failstate1 (insults and denegrating comments implying intellectual superiority): Positive
Failstate2 (Attempting to argue that disagreement and insults=agreement): Positive
Content check failed.

Shouldnt you be paying attention to your cross server lot trading spams in the trade forums?
Ya wanna talk about a loophole that goes against the spirit of the game....
You had the gaul to tell me that people dont want to hear my opinion on an actual game issue, meanwhile your spamming trade forums trying to get people to trade lots with you across servers. I dont know about everyone else, but the single most annoying thing on these boards in my opinion, are people like you who spam these boards with cross server scams."
Please post a link to the post where the devs said lot trading is an exploit or a loophole or illegal in any way. Huh? What? You pulled this out of your ass too?
I think the single most annoying thing on the boards is YOU and people like you.
haha i think you need to take your own advice and try swg 101 because you know nothing about the game.

They certainly aren't worth keeping if you can give them up and still sell your merchandise. I agree with that 100%. If your vendors stopped selling for you you might think they were worth it and you might not. That will be your skill point challenge when it comes up. Right now they aren't worth anything because you don't have to have them to sell your stuff.
my merch would still sell regardless of whether or not i have fancy dressed Bith or a plain terminal vendor.
I dont use ad barking
i dont use the planet map
having a slightly fancier sign really doesnt help
these things really have nothing to do with selling the product
all our skills are just visual merchandising...they dont help me sell more product....all they do is help me make my shop look pretty
But regarless as to whether or not i dropped the skill, i am still paying the maintance...so by rights i should get what i pay a daily fee for
Those skills let you place the vendors so when you drop them you should lose the extra vendors. How many times should i repost the dev post about this?
Paying afew credits ofmaintenancedoesnt give you the rightto have the samenumber of vendorsas people like me who actually spent the points to get them.
Vendors should remain after you drop the skill. The only reason you need merchant skills is to place a vendor, not to keep one. I can equip a weapon I'm not certified to use, therefore I should also be allowed to have a vendor I no longer have the certification to place.
If anything, only the maintenance cost should be increased, like the way damage for non certified weapons decreases.
If i drop say Weaponsmith, i dont have to pay 1000s ofcredits in maintance a day for as longas i remain in the game.
If i am paying for the vendors i should keep them

You won't have to with vendors either because if they stop selling your merchandise if you don't have the skill to manage them you will stop paying for them.

You can pay for a flame thrower too but if you dont' have the skill points to use one it isn't going to operate effectively for you. I realize that you just buy a flamethrower one time (but it is a finite resource and you have to buy another eventually) a vendor is "leased" to you instead of you buying one.. but you still have to have the skill to use either one.
it is a bad analogy.
I do not have to pay a fee to USE the flame thrower. I get he skill i can use the flame thrower.
In merchnat I get the skill and i have to PAY to use that skill. I have to PAY to advertise, i have to PAY to keep my vendor there. I have to PAY for ad barking.
What other profession CHARGES you to use the skills you have EARNED?
If i am PAYING for it then, not having the skill any more is no different than a still having it. Either way it is costing me money.
