Ok I have not found a clear answer as to what gives visibility.
Do robes give visibility? Im guessing not No
Does having the saber equipped give visibility.. even if you not using it i mean. I know using it and having the blade out does.No
How close do you have to be for someone to give visibility?... i thought 35m.. someone said 100.. hard to believe. 32 meters

This question again......... FINE, one more time.....
Visibility is debated, the effective range on visibility is 32m or closer. Outside of that effective range no vis is given. Things that are CONFIRMED to give you vis is as follows:
- Equip/Unequiping Lightsaber
- Tuning Crystals/pearls
- Using ANY ability that uses force from force pool in front of humanoid NPCs or Regular Chars.
Vis from PCs and NPCsare dependant on faction. For example, if you are a Rebel, and an Imperial PC or NPC stumbles into your vis range you will get added 100% of the "vis points" that come with you current jedi lvlto your invisisble "Vis-O-meter", neutrals give you 50% and same faction would be 25%. If you are neutral all PCs and NPCs will give 50%.
These are things that are UNconfirmed but ppl claim to give vis,
- Unequip/Equiping robe
- Saying the word JEDI or LIGHTSABER in spatial
Hope this helps..... and don't ask again.

Hover your cursor over the radar. If it says "character" then it gives vis for sure.

FAQ
Those who wield the Force have many enemies throughout the galaxy. As a Jedi becomes better known, the likelihood that a bounty is placed on their head increases. While the exact nature of whom is spreading this information still remains a mystery, the general consensus seems to be that the more a Jedi uses their abilities where others can see them, the more likely it will be leaked to those who hunt them. When it finally hits the right sources, Jedi beware: the Bounty Hunters are coming.
Equipping a lightsaber, starting combat with a lightsaber and every Jedi action (powers and lightsaber specials) all have a visibility modifier. Each PC or NPC (non-animal) that observes a Jedi performing one of those actions will increase the Jedi's visibility. Wearing a Jedi Robe and tuning a crystal or pearl do not increase visibility.

Still if your smart keep it away, if you have say have bad faction with an npc like Nym and they see you for more then a few seconds they will agro you even if they con grey. Also they patched faction scans, Stormtroopers and police npc are scanning more then ever. Use non jedi skills to defeat them till your stronger.

I got put on the terms by tuning crystals in front of people (it takes force to do it), and do you really beleive everything SOE says? They don't know half the things that their coding does while live.
