So for the past year, we have been playing and setting up ourselves to "play" by the rules. A successful crafter/merchant does not happen overnight. Many have developed an organized system of operating in this game over time. Now the rules are changed...not tweaked and modified to improve. But now its a different game for so many out there if you read the posts everywhere. I believe in working hard and smart to make things work well in here. And so many have for so long. Now I am wondering for what?

I'm a Smuggler. I make available to the smugglers who'd rather not make their own tools the option to buy them in crates. Which is a more convenient way. I sell Weapon Upgrade Kits, Armor Upgrade Kits, Molecular Clamps and Laser Precision Knives. I was also working on starting to sell Neutron Pixie and Muon Gold Spices, 2 of the top selling spices we have as Smugglers.

With this nerf, any limit below 300 items starting at Business III will literally KILL my business. I won't be able to put up crates of things for the demand I'll get. Even if I were able to put up a 2nd vendor with business IV, which I'd only pick up as a last resort, I'd still have to drop some of my combat skills, which if you know how a smuggler is, you have to accent that with other professions to be any good at any sort of combat - PVE or PVP.

But as far as selling things. That is my mainstay income source. Slicing and selling FP, contrary to popular belief, is NOT as a lucrative income source as many think it is. FP Sales are an on occasion thing, at least for me. Slices, while not as few and far between as FP sales, are also not a big resource puller. I still have to put that money into energy and harvestors for materials or buy the materials myself to make more tools, pay maintenance on my factories and houses, and tickets to get to places of customers and patrons.

So selling items has become my mainstay, as it has for many, many other smugglers. Not all of us mind you, but it has.

Limiting the items is going to make alot of people either drop combat skills and no longer do combat, quit the game due to the idiocy of this "fix" or not sell on vendors any longer.

Just a side bar here I feel I had to say something. Just because someone has hundreds of pieces of armour on their vendor certainly does NOT mean other armour vendors won't sell theirs. At the same time JZeus is selling on the same server , I could NOT keep armour more than one day on vendor. It sold as fast as I could get it up. There IS the market and there are the customers. I have to commend the workand time that it takes to be able to run an operation like him and othersdo. BUT it does not mean other Armour vendors will not sell. Trust me I have seen the proof of that.

Clarifying Orla's post: there's always AkMe, and Yaman, maybe not the greatest, but Jentai and Eddiepoo shouldn't be forgotten. Don't nerf the effort put in to build a succesful store. They've put in a lot of effort to make the shop as it is now, a thriving shop with a lot of customers. Ok, this is hard for the newbs out there, but then again, do you honestly think ANY government in RL would say to Microsoft: "Now allow other starting companies to let them sell OS too!"? NO!

So once again, RECONSIDER this NERF and fix otherthings like high encumbrance armor, vehicle storing automatically, vehicle warping, lag in major NPC towns, the ability to /addignore the spam droids.. and the list goes on..

Personally I think 1k, maybe even like 500 items is reasonable for each vendor. Don't get me wrong, I have 20 factories pumping out armor and I hate stocking as much as the next guy but the current state of the economy is not healthy. A few elite smiths are cornering the entire market and for the most part the "work" involved is who can spam more at starports.

Do the math, how many people play on your server and how much are you stocking. This is not real life. The point is to have fun, not only for you, but for everyone. I'm sure it's great fun to be rolling in 5mil a day or whatever, but because of you many others are making less if not nothing. It is still possible to make huge coin, but now the effort expended is more equal to the reward.

I want to capture this in casesomeone tries to edit it.

Who thinks one player should be able to operate 20 factories? They can under the current admin system. This is part of what makes oligopolies possible. Devs, please balance character lots at the same time as you do this so we don't have a lot of cross-lot trades to save all those hoarded loots from deletion.

There are other changes that need to be made in addition to the vendor caps, but this is certainly a good start. Look at this. Another master armorsmith who supports the caps. Excellent!! Good for the profession, I say.

The point is you're not supposed to be able to stock your vendors with thousand runs of items and completely corner the market making newer/smaller crafters completely unable to compete

I dont see it as cornering a market..I sell my good and two others from my small house. I buy everything in advanced and them sell them equal to there prices on there vendors on there merchants off world..

So i have more stuff then just mine. SO i get alot of business at my shop so that the customer doesnt have to run around to other shops looking for stuff.

On top of that if i take the time to learn more then one skill and work my way up it and then gather enough money to support enough items to "corner" a market they why should i be able to keep it..mind you its is impossible to corner anymarket in the game..anyone who is master at ther crafting profession can do as well as me. No it wont come over night. it takes time for your name to get around and get popular. So the "newer/smaller crafter is going to have to pay his dues and work hard to make a name for him self just like I did. Mind Im still a nobody. I dont get requests for special orders i dont get emails asking for something..

SO tell me why the new guy should ahve it easier then me.

The only reason that cant compete is that have taken the time to get the resources and the time to get to master..once youve got both and a good spot to sell your wares you will do fine regardless if your next to a big shop with 20 vendors in it with everything..

So your theory is wrong...

spam your servers with this info so people get the messege! lot of people on chilastra, tempest and scylla had not heard this info as of yesterday.

MAKE MACRO HOTKEYS AND LET THEM KNOW THEIR MARKET IS ABOUT TO BE NUKED!!!

and for the person who chimed in with 'you shouldn't be able to corner the market'.... I will spare you my rel thoughts, but get a grip on reality.... those small producers will not produce more if the major vendors get shut down...those small producers are small for whatever reason, but that reason is NOT because there is no room in the marketplace... every server I am on, 7 now, has the same problem of not enough goods for the community, in one category or more.
