Thread: VENDOR CAP GOOD FOR MERCHANTS
That's right folks, the cap is good for merchants. It gives meaning to the Management line and Master Merchant box.
The only people who would suffer are those mega-merchants who have vendors in like four different locations - and you know what, that's fine with me. A ltitle competition never hurt anything. And yes, you will have to log on every day or two to move your items from a backpack to the vendor. Talk about the inability to overstock is so played already.

So you think it's alright they make us pay for multiple vendors?
This alsomeans manymerchants will not be able to sell for others, because they will need the room for their own goods. That's a loss of income.
It's a nerf. It may, depending on how you look at it nerf non-merchants more, but it still lessens our abilioties and options.
I am staggered that any merchant could support this out of the blue assault on our ability to run our businesses.
I like it because it adds value to previously semi-worthless skillpoints.
Just because it hurts your business or business model does not mean it hurts the profession.
And yes, it is a nerf.
I wonder why my originalpost got deleted.. hm. I was certain it would get one-starred.. (because you are all so antagonistic with SOE in any and every way that any attempt to validate any one of their decision is immediately ridiculed)...
And by the way, Tailors, feel free to list unlimited items of crap on the bazaar. ![]()
First of all let me say that I am not personally affected by the 150 item limit. I've never stocked more than 100 items on a vendor becasue people are too stupid to look at the next page so it is a waste of time. But I know many people who do especially if they stock items like stims or powerups or clothing where people buy many items at a time.
This is not desigend to help anyone. This change is to limit the number of items in the vendor database. That is it. All of it. The 3k-6k too they are trying to make all those 3k resource offerings combine into half the number for 6k each. Add 150 item limits to the vendors and *presto* instant database shrinkage.
In the process they are damaging our profession by devaluing our services in yet anothe area and putting scores of sales on the bazaar instead of in our vendors.
If they want to streamline the database fine. I suggest they give the additional bazaar cap space to merchants with the Efficiency Skill tree line and they limit all pre-Novice Merchant Vendors to 25 items.
Novice Merchants can have 50 items per vendor with additonal raises in the Management line until the final cap is in the 200-300 item per vendor range. This would sove the database issue and give the merchant class more value and not kill our ability to have fully stocked vendors.
I am happy you are showing your displeasure with this. I for one will be going out of business as a resource merchant. I would need all 6 of my vendors (4 are on loan to my city) to keep up and still have to stock each day. Wouldn't removing all non-merchant vendors accomplish a database fix also?

What about removing all vendors of people who have dropped all merchant skills? heh.
Anyways, this really is bad. If they require more merchant skills for more objects, I have no problem with that. But Master should be unlimited, or at least 500.
I currently have over 300 items on one vendor. I'd have to take down all my secondary vendors and move them all to my main store just to keep up. This stinks.
They both sound like great ideas to me.
Increase bazaar price: YES
Cap on vendor at 150: YES
However it would be good to increase the cap along with merchant skills.
Say 50 more items at novice merchant,50 with each management box, and a bonus 100 at master level.
Novice Merchant: 200 items
Management 1:250 items
Management 2:300 items
Management 3:350 items
Management 4:400 items
Master:500 items
This adds benefit to the Merchant class along with freeing up database space.
