Thread: I get this error: This vendor has not been initialized (But it has!)
Well I finaly bought a house and am trying to set up a vendor, the house is declared as my residence, the house is declared as public, and I got a vendor so I can place some of the droids that I built for people that never got back to me after a month of emails... Anyways, I placed the vendor.
I initalized it and paid the maintenence (about 5k) and tried to use it, but I get the "This vendor has not been initialized" error message. I DID INITIALIZE THE VENDOR! I destroyed it and tried two more times, giving eachvendor about ten minutes to make sure it was not a timing issue. I'd really like to use my vendor, does anyone know what is going on?
I had this problem too! I got the vendor to work by changing the name i was giving it to "test". Every time I tried to get a vendor to work with the name I wanted to give it, it exhibited the problem. Everytime I placed a vendor with "test" as its name, it initialized properly and can be used. So, my vendor's name is "test", LOL!
Note: It may be that the name has nothing to do with it, however, it is worth a try on your part.
**edit**!
My vendor named "Test" works, that is insane.
I tried "Droid Sales" and "Droids" but neither of those worked, and i tried "Test" and it freakin' worked, but I do not want to scare anyone off with that name (not that it would, but you know...)
Why can't I name my droid somehting normal and why on Earth (Earth? What's that?) is the name affecting my initialization and how lucky were you to have discovered that that name works.
MMORPGS never cease to amaze me.
I stumbled on the name "test" out of frustration of having to remove the vendor and create another one so many times attempting to get it to work.
I actually went to a different house I have and was too lazy to name the vendor. "Test" seemed simple enough to get past that part of creating a vendor, and it worked!
So, I removed the working vendor and attempted to enter one with the name I wanted, and wouldn't you know, it did not work. So, went back to "test" as the name, and it worked again, lol.
I tried this in the first house I was trying to use as well. "Test" worked everytime.
Like I said, it could all be coincidence, however, I suspect not, and I have submitted to a CSR the scenario for the devs to reproduce the problem for themselves.
OK now i cant even get one named "Test" to work.
Anyone else having this problem? I sure would like to use a vendor, I'm a DE with a new house!
Is your house public or private? A house has to be public to place a vendor in it. Maybe that could be the issue.....

When you drop the vendor, do notuse any other option than the 'Initialise Vendor' option until it dissapears from the menu, once it has vanished, the vendor should work properly.
I do this every time, and my vendors work 100%
