Has anyone thought of Vendor Droids. When we have had events going on i have often wished to drop a vendor selling stuff apporpite of the event. However often there no approite place to do it. So like we have baker modules for droids how about vendor modules. I would keep the modules small to stop them been loaded up as storege, maybe someting like 20 items max.

So what do you think?

I like the idea.

But how about this ...

You could have limitless room on it (but only according to your skill) and it would auto use one of your vendor slots.

Everyone and their brother would be putting one down in Coronet starport, imagine the chaos of 300 vendor droids in the starport.

There would need to be a way to limit them per area. Or perhaps extremely high maintenence costs. Or maybe only master Merchants can use them.

No worse than the 300 people already spamming in Coronet already...IMO.

I LIKE this idea...a further restriction though, might be in order - I like the "must be a master merchant" restriction. This way it could simply be another of the merchant's 12 vendors. This'll also stop a LOT of people trying to use it as storage (how many peeps would want to use all those skill points for another suitcase?).

Another benefit is that this really gives Master Merchant a nice little bonus

like the restrictions as well as the expantion available to master merchs with this. I dont think many master merchs will be using them in the star ports ... probably more for functions ect if you ask me.

Point is, I would love a droid that I can reach my vendor anywhere or retrieve items or sell items to any of my other vendors. That would be awesome for a droid function more than Selling items via droid.

def, but of course that would mean that they would have to enact several other ideas for mercant as well. all of these ideas would work very nicely for merchant. remove the barker droids, or modify them to be incorporated with a vendor droid.

I believe that this would be the way to eliminate NPC droid vendor spam.

My proposal for how the Vendor Droid should work:

1. Droid can only be used by Hiring IV Merchants

2. Radial Menu, Droid Options:

Store (Stores droid ... duh)

Store Information (kind of like a bio on your store)

a) When opened, allowsnon-owner to download a waypoint or series of waypoints up to 5 waypoints at their descression (can download one at a time or all waypoints at once.

b)Area where the owner can write a 4k char bio about what their store has to offer, what their store purchases, and non-owners can veiw this information when opened.

c) Area where a MASTER MERCHANT can place a bark.

Use Vendor (Opens a vendor interface)

a) When non-owners access vendor it would act as any other vendor. I cant remember off hand cause im retarded but if non-owners cannot access vendors on a regional, planet, galaxy basis (i know you can on the bazaar) then they should be able to do so with the droid. If I like what I see on the vendor droid, then I might want to purchase something from the store in larger quantity. Of course, purchasingan item off astationary vendor from the vendor droid interface would require the buyer to travel to that location to pick up the merchandise. Purchasing from the droid would be the same as purchasing froma vendor ... instant retreival.

b) Non-Owners would not be able to offer items to a vendor droid.

c) Owners would be able to use vendor droid just as they would any other vendor. Sales would be limited to 25 items. The main purpose of this droid would be funcionability of managing vendors from any location. The bonus would be a mini-vendor for player events. The 25 item limit would discourage ppl from leaving them in front of starports.

Manage Vendors

a) Owner could move all of their inventory around from any location. Withdrawl sales from a vendor on naboo while using the droid on Talus. they could then assign a vendor to which these items are to be resold. Item starts on Naboo vendor, customer at Talus shop, merch withdrawls sale from naboo vendor, resales on talus vendor, customer gets item without having to travel. Or, if you run into someone who is looking for something immediately, you could move it to the vendor droid or retrieve it into your inventory rather than directing the customer to the shop.

b) List of vendors and option to manage maintenance on one or all.

c) Transfer Stock option: allows you to take one vendor's entire inventory and "move" it to another vendor (thus allowing you to have an empty vendor that you could remove/replace in a matter of minutes rather than hours).

Open Droid Storage Compartment (accesses a storage up to 10 slots)

Im sure there would be other factors needed to be discussed on this. But this is my best poke at it. Little sleep so forgive me if it is a bit jumbled, but hopefully you all get the idea of what im shooting for. Rather than revamping the entire vendor system, simply give us a droid that we can do all this on. Im sure that adding a droid with these options would be a lot easier than revamping a system that is already in place. If they revamped, they would have to rewrite the code for all existing vendors. Not likely going to happen, they are busy enough as it is. Adding a droid with all the functions we are requesting, ie restock buttons, "teleporting" features ect, much easier. Incorporating the existing system of vendor use with the new droid, piece of cake.

Please feel free to expand on this. Maybe we can come up with a really good proposal for the devs to work with.

To imagine a Master merchant setting up one remote vendor fully loaded, then dropping a droid in Cnet to do sells

takes away any personable aspect merchants have with customers.

one of the reason is suggested a 25 item sell limit on a droid so it would be beneficial only to the point of player events. not so much in a grand leave the droid in cnet and go afk at your house for 10 days kind of thing.

With it been a droid, you will only be able to have one at a time and only when your online. So a lot of worries of a vast swam of them i taken away, also to stop them form been abused they should have a limit on how much they could hold.

I must say I do not agree with a vendor droid. { at least in respects to selling directly from it]

If the droid allows WPs,merchant information to be shared,

or veiwing of what the vendors contain I have zero qualms.

I would love to see a terminal or droid funtion added where people can veiw what a vendor has on it for sell before travel.

ButI do not want to see the shops reduced to a droid everyone can buy from instantly.

Yes it would be faster, yes it would allow for more veiwing of items..

But people would still be clicking and sorting and poking individual droids, and they wouldn't be there while you are not online.

A terminal akin to a bazaar one that merchants can register on would allow for remote *veiwing anytime, with filters, at one spot.

{*veiwing not buying, I truely think people should have to go to the vendor to buy the item, not just retrieve it}

After selling in bazaar on EQ, mastering merchant in SWG, and seeing the broker and bulletin boards functions in EQ2..

a general search function for anyone selling items definatly needs implemented.
