Thread: THE DEVS & CSRS SUCK!!!! After 300 items lost in a vendor I have lost all will to play.
Pssst - sales last 30 days, and the stockroom 7 (least last I checked - that one keeps changing).
If you had pulled all items for sale before you left and relisted them - you'd have been golden for 3 weeks - and still have a week left on the sales.
This WAS a problem back when sales only lasted 7 days, I suspect that's one of the reasons sales got shifted to 30 days.
Hard way to learn that lesson - but now ya know.
well i have to add two things here...
1) The CSRs sometimes act like its their money or something. I had a CSR fix a problem i was having. He was able to see EVERYTHING i bought and sold for at least a month. We saw with the update that deleted all of our items that yes they can be restored. It only takes them having the will to do it.
2) WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE TIMER ANYWAY?????!!!!!!!!!!!! what game deletes your stuff if you leave it1 second too long. ITS YOUR VENDOR. ITS YOUR SKILL. YOU PAY MAINTENCE. the game should not delete your items. but of course their excuse is they have to protect the database. if something is in your stock room it should stay there. I should be able to use my stock room as a STOCKROOM...lets get real.....does anyone really see people just storing junk on the vendors....the complaint is that they are all empty!

I've had dealings many times with CSRs. They couldn't always help with a problem, but they were always courteous and professional.
What you are reading in as sarcasm I'm sure is a directive from the powers that be to be 'cheerful', although the last thing most folks want to hear when they are having a problem requiring CSR intervention is 'chipper'.
The rules are things are on the vendor for 30 days - go off for 7. I'm not quite sure what you expect a CSR to do about this. If you had delisted and relisted your items before you left - this would not have been a problem. You can delist in one swoop and relisting 150 items should take you maybe all of 10 min.
Back when things were only listed for 7 days and I was going to be out of town - I delisted everything - on every vendor and relisted. Bout 3k items over 6 vendors. That took me about a half hour per vendor. Was it unpleasant - well, I could think of more fun things to do - but infinately preferable to losing all that stock.

Yep I went out of town on a business trip for 3 weeks hadover 100sales(auctions) end while I was gone, and over 200 items in the stockroom,
Length of sale: Items remain for sale for 30 days. They drop to the stockroom. Items in the stockroom are deleted after 7 days. DO NOT Store items in the stockroom.
I can't say what happened to the 100 items on the vendor... But the stockroom is meant for items that don't sell, not storage.. I'm not even a novice merchant yet...
Your title sucks.
Getting upset with the CSR when they are clearly right within the bounds of how the game is supposed to work is not constructive. Suggesting that we might push to remove the 7 day limit if they are going to give us item limits might be constructive and I think we have a case for it but only after they put in item limits. Until then they will argue that removing the time limitations means that players would use the unlimited stockroom to hoard 1000s of items over what they would otherwise be able to store with the lots they have.

I couldn't agree more. One of the things that is most annoying about vendors is that "stockroom" tab. It's a complete misnomer. It's not a stockroom, it's a temporary transit point for purchased or de-listed items, nothing more. A STOCKroom is a place I put my STOCK to STORE it prior to sale. A 7-day timer on anything in there -- coupled with the fact I can't load items directly into the stockroom, they only go there after being listed for sale and then DE-listed -- is a farce.
Very frustrating.
Why?

Strange I stumbled upon this...I use 2 vendors for storage, on both the items in my stockrooms get 30 days. Also, the vendors in my shops also get 30 days in the stockroom (both buying offered items and withdrawn sales.)

I've seen that too but I'm not sure that the timer is accurate. A way to test would be to put some small item you don't mind losing in the stock room with a 30 day timer and see if it vanishes in 7 days.

This is one of the reasons I am so pissed I had heard the timer was 7 days in the stockroom, but I had a vendor in the corner of dantooine that I couldn't get to for a while these were items that I wasn't too concerned about losing, and it had been at least 1 month that I had the items in the stockroom so when I got there to my surprise all my items were there no problem. So I started to use the stockroom to hold for example; I would put 5 FWG5's up for sale and keep 5 in the stockroom to replenish I like putting a variety of items up for sale, the name of my shop is Battosai's Wholesale Club so I don't just sell only weapons I sell a lot of items. For example Ihadseveral items that I lootedfrom meatlumpsthat were of good value, so instead of throwing them all on there, I decided to use supply and demand principles you have 6 of item Aput 2 up for sale at a higher price rather than all six at a lowerprice. Once you sell those two repeat the process what the need is a way for the stockroom to automatically replenish your live sales, that would be useful and it would stop people from using the vendors as storage basically you set a price once there is room the stockroom places the item up for sale, see how easy that is DEVS. Instead deleting crap at least make it useful for somebody, deleting items is stupid and for some reason they love doing it, oh well any hopes of consistency with this game went out the window a long time ago.
Some items do sell within 30 days and some don't, but this time some items were priced too high, but I didn't have time to go and change the items out, I figured I would be OK since I had used the stockroom on other vendors for more than 7 days with no problem then I come back and poof. As a matter of fact I put 15 new items in the same stockroom the other day to test this "game feature" and guess what it's been 7 days and the items are still in there so who's telling the truth the DEVS or the software??????
Well I guessthevendroexploiters will rule SWG,a merchant read my post here and emailed me a strategy for using vendors to get around the stupid "Stockroom errr I mean unfun delete your crap room".
1. Get Management IV
2. Setup the max number of vendors
3. Drop management IV andyou keep all the vendors
4. list items in the vendors and charge a bazillion credits for each item
5. Have one for sales that you charge your normal prices, if someone is dumb enough to pay a bazillion credits for an item then you win either way.
6. You have just created storage space to place items.
Is this what we have come to, resorting to tactics like this I wasn't using the item to store stupid crap like CDEF Pistols with a bleed DOT I was roleplaying a merchant using my stockroom and I got screwed. Which is worse a merchant using a stockroom to hold stock, or an armorsmith who dropped merchant who gets to keep the same amount vendors I do without giving up the skill points? I guess everyone is going to enjoy running around seeing every vendor that has all it's items set at $50,000,000.00 credits, I wonder what's more annoying hologrinders with their access fees and empty vendors or blatant use of a vendor for storage sorry you can look but not buy.
I am going to re-test the stockroom theory again to make sure I am correct.
