You do not get XP for bazaar sales. You get 150 xp per hour per vendor you get up. You get 50 xp per person who lookst at your vendors (10 minute limit for each indvidual) and 50 xp for someone paying the access fee for a structure you own.

thank you for the prompt answer.

Another Question i have here, and i hate to post it cause i guess its considered a bug or something and i have yet to see it on any boards here or get a response from a csr about it, (actually 3 different csr's gave me 2 different answers)

If i use the /transferstructure command to give my houses to a friend, and he transfers them back to me, supposedly that resets the timer on access fees? does this work and/or is it like a bug or something that shouldnt be done? i havent tryed it, someone actually on another message board posted it for me to help me through merchant, any ideas?

thanks

Doc - I did get xp for bazaar sales up to a point. I'm now on the forth box of the business tree in the Artisan profession and I find that I'm not getting that any longer.

I have the basic vendor up in my house and do not get hourly xp. If I did I would have filled that forth box up by now. Granted this is still in the basic profession, but how do I get xp for that arm of the profession? Like I said before I used to get xp for sales on the bazaar, but not anymore...or if I do they're so miniscule that I don't notice (like 1xp per sale)

Merchant is going to be my next profession since I have a large interest in it! (Currently am almost a Master Architect). But I don't seem to be making any progress. =\ Any advice?

Lets be clear here. Business I - IV take crafting xp from artisian components. You dont' get any xp from the bazaar. Once you have Business III and place a vendor you will start to get 150 xp per hour from that vendor.

I think you do get some form of exp from bazaar sales... if, like someone else said, it is only up until a point. Because I mastered artisan, and didn't even bother with a vendor until I went merchant, and yet I had 10k merchant exp.

Doc there is NO way I get xp from my vendor -towards my biz IV skill. I have had it up in my homefor 3 weeks and am perhaps 250xp points above what I was before I placed it. I've had had Biz III forthe same amount of time - obviously because that's when I placed the vendor. Unless...is there a way you LOSE xp points?

The Business IV box uses General Crafting Experience. Not Business Experience.

Your vendor gives you Business Experience.

Crafting (and if the UXP gods are kind to you, selling) items gives you General Crafting Experience.

You could very easily be maxed out on Business Experience and it won't make a lick of difference to your Business IV box because it uses General Crafting Experience. That probably explains why you aren't seeing that box go up.

However, if you ever pursue the Merchant profession, you'll find that Business Experience is where it's at.

Also, you do get merchant exp per hour per vendor it just doesn't alwaysshow up right away. Sometimes it's several hours with no gains, then all at once you get a chuck of merchant exp. I noticed this while I was "grinding" merchant. If you want to call it grinding hehe I just had vendors and it went up

Im a new merchant but my understanding is that the hourly rate of xp only applies for when the vendor is actually in world. So if someone walking into your shop and the vendor loads up and *poof* appears before the customer, you get the xp for that hour it popped up. If no one walks by the vendor (making it appear in world) you dont get any xp. So if someone walked by a vendor once every 10 hours you'd get 10 hours worth of xp.

Or so thats how I understand it.

The way a lot of things have been coded is that most things don't appear until they are needed.

This means that if no-one walks near your vendor your vendor doesn't appear, and as a result you won't get xp from the vendor while it's not there. However, once it does appear it adds all the xp up to that point straight away.

This is also why structures (houses, harvestors and factories) can decay to nothing without any warning emails. The system only loads the structure and does the checks when someone actually goes near it (I think it's the 50m rule) so if the structure is not in an areas that attacks a lot of traffic it's possible for the structure to never be loaded until you go back to check it yourself and find it's been destroyed.

This is also why after a server reboot not many vendor's appear on the planetary map. Only once someone walks near them do they load and re-register themselves on the map.

In my opinion, this is not working as they should.

You would be right. The Dev who designed them, GreenMarine, told me last weekend that he wanted to put in some code that would flag certain objects (like vendors) as a load immediately instead of a load on demand. I don't know if that will happpen or not, if so when. But he agrees that it isn't a good system.
