Where is it stated that merchants are supposed to have unlimited amounts of storage while others must suffer with their house limits?
I can tell you that I am not a merchant but after filling up my large house, medium house, and my bank I still do not have enough room for my other items.
I hear people are actually mad that vendors that do not have anything inside them wont show up on the map vendor.
LOL thank god!
But I know people are just going to work around this by putting 1 item at 9999999999 and naming the vendor something that people always use but is only naming it that so he can get merchant xp.
and believe me I cant waiiiiiit till they get rid of recursive macros so I dont have to load into Coronet with 50 spamming idiots surrounding the starport loading area.
for once SOE does something good for a change.

If everyone has an equal chance, no player really has to suffer

Venders = solution?

Yea, sadly.

The recursive macros being taken out will directly affect you unless you don't fight anything in anyway. Dancers run off macros, thus healing BF and mind wounds when it may be a non populated time. It also will create issues for trying to craft, instead of it coming up and you just putting resources in, you have to press it (while its just one more step, it does cost time and is an inconvience)
for once SOE does something good for a change.
Item cap and the soon to be lack of entertainers is a good thing? Let me mind disease you after they take these macros out, let's see how long it takes you to find someone actually dancing/playing music.

forcing people to interact with each other, how is that not bad?

how is it an equal chance? not everyone wants to spend their SP on Artisan just so they can have 1 vendor to put all their things in, it shouldnt have to be that way
I can tell you that I am not a merchant but after filling up my large house, medium house, and my bank I still do not have enough room for my other items.

again, you have to be an artisan, unless the devs added vendors for anybody to use. hmm maybe a thought?

this will force the real entertainers to stay, the ones who hate the afk bots, i see nothing wrong with it, the devs have even said they want to help people around times where entertainers arent usually around- late night, early morning. they also want to change the crafting process. these are good things. but having to wade through the lag in an afk infested area isnt a good thing

It is not stated because it exists... to remove the unlimited items and replacing with a tiny finite number is absurd.
Heres a real life example to point out how absurd an infitite possible amount to a finitevendor limit is:
2 assumtions:
Humans need to breath air inorder to survive
Merchants need vendors is SWG to survive as a proffesion
Lets say you live in a large industrial city (SWG) and the goverment (Sony) comes to the citizens and says, "Hey guys, we have a carbon dioxide problem (database) and inorder to to solve it we are going to have to limit the amount of times each person breaths per day. Now in order to make this fair, we cant base the number of breaths on the size of the person (the amount a crafter produces/sells) because larger people and athletesbreath more then small people and that isnt fair. So next month (publish) each family is going to be alloted a number of breaths per day....If you a single Adult you'll get 50 breaths, a couple each get 70 breaths, couple w/ 1 kid each get 80 breaths, couple w/ 2 kids each get 90, couple w/ 3 kidseach get100 and a couple w/ 4 kids each get 110 breaths per day, Have a nice day."
Well of course the community (forum) gets all up in an uproar and yells, screams and kicks thier feet because they cannot survive only breathing so few times a day. People start throwing out ideas on how many breaths "they" could actually live with, how they could get around the breathing limit and how they could change the way they breath. The problem with this is they have by doing this already accepted the insane idea that they should have to limit thier breathing to solve the cities air problem rather then the city working on solving the amount of carbon dioxide being emited by the city's Industries.
So after a week the city government comes back and says, "We hear your plee's/concerns, and thanks for the feed back and ideas, we understand your points of view and feel your pain, so we have decided to double the amount of breaths we previously proposed. We have given, now you must."
Well I am sorry I cannot live on 50 breaths (items), 100 breaths, or 1000 breaths a day....This leaves me very few options, try to live with the absurd demand to limit my breaths and die, or leave the city (swg)I have loved up until now, for another town (MOG) that will allow me to breath.

no but heres a clue to what we go through
if we have to hunt out every resource we need to make stuff we have to spend hours upon hours praying someones got whjat we need so to save time we drop harvesters. we hunt to do that we have to have
Our main profession what we are selling mastered.
we need a bit of scout to harvest
terrain to walk faster then a crawl.
a form of fighting skill to keep from getting killed while we are hunting or out looking for resources.
artisain to locate resources.
here is my tree example
i am a master medic
master doctor.
a bit of scout to get the meat i need
artisian to locate resourses for meds
one vender
marksman in the pistol and suport.
i have no extra points i use all i have.
so to master merchant my prices will have to go sky high to cover the cost of having to buy all my supplies.
and i could nt defend myself or help a fellow rebel fight if attacked during a battle.
we need to keep our venders the way they are no caps and remove the empty ones.
if they buy more servers it will solve the problem.

I 1-starred this because this had nothing to do with anything. People are not afraid of being merchants. Stop trying to intimidate people by teasing their inherent fear of being perceived of as weak.
Usually, if 99% of a profession regards a coming change as being extremely detrimental, it is. You said yourself that you're not a merchant, and what you wrote makes it very clear that you have little to no understanding about what the changes that are currently planned mean or what the effect will be.
And by the way, I have heard no complaints about the empty vendor "fixes" (that's what they are, imo), and recursive macros have nothing to do with merchants.
Just wanted you to understand why I 1-starred you.

its the worst idea thats come along in a long ass time
um I slice armor, crates of it, and if the crates aren't listed then where do they go? where is aircartman suppose to put crate after crate of armor, or maji, there is no where for it to go, and do you people seriously want to have to wait for others to buy up one vendor before the armor you want to be listed
how about weaponsmiths.... same deal, they are nerfing your ability to buy well sliced weapons, they are really screwing it in the ass bad
this is not ok, this is the worst idea I've ever heard of, I don't care if some losers use it for storage, what about the poeple that don't, they are being royal screwed, any major crafter might as well sell thier **edit** on ebay and leave the game, whats the point, they are trying to nerf lot trades too, so what is a weaponsmith or armorsmith suppose to do? there is no room, they won't be able to produce any thing, seriously, they are going to ruin the game, not every one can buy 10 accoutns

hun i was a master merchant, but paying 25 cpus for resourse killed me.
i had 6 venders the cool venders with clothing.
i know what it is to be a master merchat.
i also know this nerf will kill what is left of the ecconomy.
yes remove the empty venders they need to be.
but to cap us that will kill us.

alright im sort of getting a somewhat image of the problem now
but i still feel that there should be a limit, but they should increase it
maybe even increase house storage by 50 or 25

Forcing people to have to sell items through other people causes issues all in itself, since you have to trust the person, and doing anything of such is very risky.
Where is it stated that merchants are supposed to have unlimited amounts of storage while others must suffer with their house limits?

Getting to the point of having artisan took me all of 5 minutes. So yes, to get a vender, it is very easy, and an equal chance
I can tell you that I am not a merchant but after filling up my large house, medium house, and my bank I still do not have enough room for my other items.

As it stands, no you don't. You don't have to have anything to keep a vender running other than money (until after this bogus nerf)
I hear people are actually mad that vendors that do not have anything inside them wont show up on the map vendor.

Forcing real entertainers to stay is a task all in itself. Few people want to sit infront of a keyboard for hours on end grinding musician. What the dev's say and what they do are completely different things. They say that the combat balance will be this year. They push it up until 2005. Addignore reduces lag quite well, so does disabling afk person spam (its in your options box)
for once SOE does something good for a change.

ok two points
one point is if you are a afk non holo dancer /music player your a alt that someone has taken the time to set up and out of the goodness of there heart pays 15.00 each months logs on all day server up server down so you can get your mind healed or buffed.
removing that maccro they will drop that secound account and as we all know dancers are hard to find at all hours plus to be live you will get a mind buff 15k heal bf exams you looks at your bf 10k and up.
now venders.
with limits on item amount per vender prices will be sky high
why resourse folk will name there prices master merchant will namethere prices and the little mom and pop venders will go bye bye
you will have a hard time locating items you need and find when you do find someone selling your brandy you will be paying 500k or more for a crate,
tailors will be a order only you will wait and pay a very high price for the clothes you ordered.
food will be non existant or rare.
armor the poor armor smith the suits will have to be baged so no more buying one peice you need you ll be buying a suit,
half mill easy. if not more.
meds we so easly buy will be hard to find and doctors will be forced to choose this week stims next week health packs.
ch people will not get to offer a selection of pets plus stims pet packs food ect
smugglers
meon gold will be like buying buff packs
because they have to sell clamps lazer knifes ect
there not helping us there hurting us in a big way.

If you want to do real life analogies to this unlimited vs limited change. here it is.
You have a website. Websites are allowed a certain amount of bandwidth/traffic. If you exceed this amount you have to pay more.
Or how about this one. You have a free email account. Oh, but you are approaching the maximum allowable. So to receive extra storage, you have what, pay a monthly fee.
But then again, I guess most people should get an unlimited amount of bandwidth and an unlimited amount of storage space. After all, databases are infinite right. <grin>
