Thread: Restocking from STOCKROOM one item at a time EVERY 30days is LAME, THOUGHTLESS, and PATHETIC!

Whats this time limit for?I hope the Devs do read this and impliment when the merchant revamp comes around (or earlier). Seems pretty easy to just remove the 30 day limit. It would actually be less code and reduce load on the servers.
The point of the 30 day limit is that you have to be around every 30 days to keep your stuff in the world other wise it just stays there forever. A relist button would ease the pain without giving everyone a pass to store all their items indefinitely.

Isn't that what Vendor Maintanence is for? It would be a lot easier if they just capped the maintanence pool so it could only hold 30 days worth. That way you wouldn't even need to relist items but it would still require your attention and would be nice and easy to do. Think about it, Walmart doesn't need to restock the same item on the same shelf every 30 days for no reason. But they do need to give their employees some attention now and then (pay checks).

I honestly can't see anything wrong with that suggestion. I'm sure someone will come in with a different idea on why that is bad, but if that was implemented, that would make life alot easier on all merchants.

i think this is the best idea of them all, ive actually suggested it and the reason i was given for merchs not wanting it is in case they have to awol for more than 30 days they dont think their stuff should go poof ... but if they were awol for 30 days, it would go poof to the stock room any way. the thing is with the purge rather than maintenance cap, once in the stockroom, the vendor wont go poof until maintenance is drained. my suggestion would be this ...
- change 30-day purge to a 30-day maintenance pool cap.
- if no maintenance is paid within 30 days, all items on the vendor shuffle to the stock room.
- vendor maintenance is now at 0 and no items are listed for sale on the common market.
- once vendor is at 0 maintenance, all functionality of the vendor is removed (PAC/barking) and the "offer items" function will be removed.
- all items in the stock room of a vendor will purge off in 90 days (3 months) giving the owner a total of 4 months to return and claim the property.
- if items are still in a nonfunctioning vendor after the 90days, all items will either be deleted perminantly or be put into a data disk that can be uploaded onto a future vendor (or a similar system where owners could retrieve items), and the vendor will be deleted.
and as for the ppl who whine and cry "but i pay for the account even if im not playing right now" ... tough, you are making it impossible on the rest of us so just get over it ... if you know you are going to be unavailable for longer than 4 months, then you should either have a real life close friend log in occasionally to pay your maintenance or close your business for a season. structures now auto deduct from your bank account so set up a ton of factories and load them down with stuff ... get guld mates to hold your stuff ... something ... whatever ... but any businessman who ignored their business for that long would be out of business and it is their own fault ... why should the rest of us suffer because you dont want/cant tend to your business properly?
A relist button that allowed you to quickly get your stock back in circulation would alieve most of the pain of the process.
I really hope you guys can get this fixed.

Personally, I like the 30 day move to stock room. If I'm not paying attention, it lets me know when something costs too much. It's easy to forget I have 5 "somethings" on the vendor when there are 100 item on that one. If you have problems with stuff falling off, perhaps you need to revisit your pricing or marketing strategy.
Negative.
