Thread: Private Sales- ADD THIS ABILITY
Going from shop to shop, browsing vendors, can be fun but what about "ordering" specific items? I'd like to see a game change implemented that I believe would take a lot of pressure off artisans and make shopping easier.
Currently, if I need a flamethrower (for example), I have to wander from planet to planet, city to city and shop to shop, looking through vendors. If I send a TELL to a weaponsmith and he has one, I have to arrange to meet him at a particular time and place. If I happen to be on another planet, this often means dropping whatever I'm doing and heading immediately to his shop. Often, sellers and buyers are in different time zones (plus different Rl work schedules) and getting together isn't easy. Additionally, sellers are bombarded by TELLS asking for specific item or weapon to be made.
So, what can be done? Change the vendors so that items can be listed that can only be purchased by a specific customer- a "private listing". Simple. Now, if I want the flamethrower, I just send in an e-mail order. The weaponsmith fills the order and places it in his vendor. Then, he sends me an e-mail when the order is ready and I go and purchase the item at my convenience. He only has to deal with one e-mail message and I don't have to worry about someone else purchasing my order before I can get to the vendor.
If the order isn't picked up after a few days, he can make it available to other customers. Another option would be to require a TIP payment up front and then list the item for 1 credit as a private listing.
One other fix would be to allow items to be sent via e-mail as attachments. This would be a bigger change but would allow "mail order" purchases. What do you all think?
I totally agree with this.. And Ill tell you what.
What they really need in this game are access lists.
Each guild that gets created gets created with it a short idenitfy that acts as an access list. Then anywhere that you can add a person to access something you can add the access list.
I dont know if the acroyms are unique or not, but assuming they were, that would work.
You could just add your guild's acronym to the harvester for example or private sale option and only people on the list could access that option. Extra bonus if the list gets updated the access is automatically updated. So that if someone gets the boot from the guild they no longer have access to any of the building resources that they had before.
If only they had a /feature command in game. ![]()
... wait for it...
...The *BLOCK* PA list. I would like houses and vendors able to ban based on PA, Faction, or a list of specific names, as well as restricting access and/or sales to the same criteria.
Yes. Hear, hear! This is useful even when you have customers in-store and a lot of stuff to give them. Just put it on your vendor under their name and then you don't have to bother while they crash the trade window 3 times, have a full inventory, don't know how to bank tip, etc... and can get on to the next customer.

Regarding blocking a whole guild. Try adding this to your blocklist:
Guild:ABC
Where ABC is the guild acronym. Same should work for admin lists.
The work around for this is to have a small house with a single vendor in it.
- Set the access fee for the house to 1,000,000Cr.
- When someone has a special order, add them to the access list.
- When they pick the item up, remove them from the access list.
Rock on! I love this! I also love exclamation points!
Seriously, this would be great, kind of like a reverse of the offers tab on our vendors. Many times I make special deals with certain suppliers and I have to be there to sell them the items in person at the "special reduced rate".
Just being able to put it on the vendor for sale to a certain name (since they are all unique) would be great.
