Thread: A plee From Merchants

When mastering merchant it takes along time. I have been a merchant now for about 4 months and am on the last skill bok now. What im asking is when a merchant masters can you make it so they can keep all there skills even if they decide to surrender there skills. It is not a game breaking request or anything just something that would make more people want to become a master merchant. It really wouldnt work for any other class but merchant and i belive its a feeble request, we shouldnt have to tie up 66 points to be able to change the sign on our house or place a vendor. It would be a great christmas gift for us merchants that seem to have been a merchant too long.

I'm sorry. That is just not right. It wouldn't be a christmas gift to merchants it would be a christmas gift for everyone who wants to kill the merchant profession.


Why not wish for all the Bounty Hunter Skills without taking up 219 sklil points.

IMHO if you 'break the rules' for one class then you open the floodgates for bitching about 'why should Merchants get this and not other calsses? I agree with Doc. I think it would be more constructive to ask for something better at Master rather than ask to be able to surrender points without losing skills. There are plenty of master merchants out there and I don't recall seeing any others wanting this kind of change. If 90 pct of Merchants think the class is a waste of time why don't they just give it up ? Don't give our correspondent a hard time because he does not support your personal view, he's doing a fine job for the majority of us

I was a doctor and a combat medic and a pistoleer before I dropped everything to become a politician/merchant. Can I have all the abilities of those professions too? And where are the 90% of Merchants who think the class is a waste of time. What I see are people who think the class is a waste of time because they want all of the features of merchant without being one. The game is designed for class interdependancy and uniqueness of players. A merchant is a merchant. He's not a bounty hunter and a doctor and a politician and a creature handler and a merchant all in one. If you drop skills, you lose them. It's pretty simple.

The biggest benefit Merchant has is that he gets multiple vendors, yet most merchants tend to place thier vendors all in the same strucure which I don't understand.


I currently run three shops on three planets...I think that was more the intent with this class

Sorry but lame request. Now due to SOE's poor design you can for the most part do that on many of the trees. If you go up hiring and uniform your vendors then drop hiring 4 the vendors will still be clothed. If you go up multiple vendors and drop it does not erase your vendors. But this is still not fair to all of the other classes and YES it would be game breaking. Then everyone would have 5 vendors and there would be no way to distinguish the really good dedicated crafters from the average dabbler.

Richman, just because you are tired of being a merchant doesnt mean that everyone else is. And how would we be able to compete if everyone who used the Merchant XP Exploit got to keep advertising, multiple vendors etc? What would happen to the existing merchants? The few unique abilities they had would be lost. No one would need the merchant profession anymore. It would be dead. Very happy christmas indeed.

Would make more people want to be Master Merchant? No they would be surrendering it, thus they would NOT be a Master Merchant yet still have all the benefits. This in my eyes IS a game breaking request. You are essentially asking to get rid of the class. This lame idea is a christmas gift for everyone but the true Merchants.

Dont be stupid. It like i said, would not be a game breaking attribute. And how the hell would it kill the profession it would just mean that once ya learned it you would have it. 90 % of merchants already think merchant is a big waste of skill points anyway. It should be like riding a bike for the merchant class. If your the corrispondent here its no wonder merchant hasnt got anything better. Bug fixes dont count. Keeping 66 points in a class like merchant about breaks you from mastering a few other skills. It would hurt no one if every one who learned merchant could keep it. Unlike your bounty hunter trip, Thats just ignorant.
