Thread: Should they reduce skill point cost for merchant?

They did it for image designer, so an entertainer can master entertainer, dancer, muscian and image designer. Why not do it for crafters so we can master artisan, tailor, armorsmith(droid engineer, architech orweaponsmith)and merchant. What does the community think?

Should be crafter prof skill based, that way you only have crafters (and not storage junkies) using vendors.

personallyI think I am bored with reading the same thread over and over because noone else reads previous threads before posting.

I am a Master Merchant, I was one long before holos told people to be one was one by choice not to earn xp but as a profession

I chose to sink my skill points into it and do not think we should bemaking this profession any easier to master when so many just want the storage

if storage was indeed hugeI bet we would not see half as many of these 'reduce point' threads started

and for those who really want to do that many profs, knock it off, quite trying to be a cracker jack and do it all

{andI am not in a foul mood..just ain't catering to the general public anymore, time to be honest folks }

I agree Merchant should be part of a crafting proffesion.

Its taking up vauable points for no reason.

no body has over 2500 items in their vendor to sell at anytime.

Most people dont care much about the Hiring line

---------------> Merchant should be divided 50% to Artisan and the other 50% to Crafting elite proffesion to add up all of the skills.

sure the combats have nothing to offer up for sell..they do not need vendors...

and noone would ever want to just be a collector to resell, or a harvester to provide resources..

/sarcasm off

I will never support Merchanting or Vendoring being made into a crafter only skill.

Everyone should have the right to sell if they chose to sink in the skill points to do so.

personally it's important to me that I have a nice shop and offer a variety. I chose to put my sp into master merchant, and am fine with the sp cost. I even get to sell my fiance's stuff with those extra vendors

as I've already told the politicians, I would much rather have them add content to the profession instead of reducing sp requirements. 0sp is a mixed blessing, and it's one that I hope isn't given to the merchants

Um I beg to differ.....

I'm a master Tailor, Master Artisan, and a Master Merchant and I have a little over 3500 items (Clothing/Tailor supplies/Aritsan goods/Loot) total spread across 6 vendors, so your statement of "no body has over 2500 items in their vendor to sell at anytime" is bulloxs!

I did for over a year, until about a week or two ago when I got so fed up with merchant that I shut down my vendors. My problem was that 4000 items wasn't enough. I was having to restock every few days. And I'm not even a crafter...

QFE!

One of the coolest things I think they could do for merchant is grant the ability to dropvendors for other people and take a percentage of the sales. Master merchant only I think. Drop a vendor, give "concessionaire" rights to a player (so they could stock and get the sales from the vendor) and seteither apercentage or flat fee to be charged.

How about just erasing the SP requirement for advertising, which is now a totally useless tree, and keep the SP for the other trees. That way to get Master you'd still need to use SP, but don't waste points on something that is totally useless.

<edit> Just thought, why not just make it a 3 tree prof instead of 4.

Fat chance. Look at the latest 'content' they've added. Having to buy what is basically a giant theme park?? Sorry, I thought that's what my monthly subscription was for.

I know the possibility's remote (tell me about it, I'm a politician), but would you rather have them take away your sp then forget about it, or have something to nag them about?

the only reason you should get a reduced skill point or no skill point cost for merchant is if you have mastered an elite crafting proffession and maintained it for a set length of time (like a veteran reward) but as soon as you drop the craft the point require ments should then go back up.

This way only those dedicated to the crafting arts will get the benifits of increased storage and not every Tom,Richard (they wont let me use the abreiviated version)and Harriet.

Make it too easy for them and they will exploitit but make it worthwhile and you all benifit
