Doesnt it suck when the devs make more than 2 professions desirable?

Or -- you can work out a deal with a merchant to run a vendor for you.

Indeed.

Find a merchant and use their vendors to sell your produce, then you can keep all your combat skills and your medical skills.. Look! Your even in the merchant forum, a profession who's sole purpose would be to provide you with this service so you don't have to suffer. It's ironic that your on here complaining you haven't any alternativebut to get your own legitimate vendor really isn't it ?..

We invest theskill pointsso you don't have to..

Seems quite handy, even if a little less convenient.

I have started an arangement whereby I can see my wares from a vendor in a tent in the middle of town (the illustrious Sunfall, on Tatooine, Chimaera. Come visit)

I just offer them to the vendor at 0.001 of their sale value, the owner comes along and offers them up for sale, I get tipped the takings every week. The vendor gets an as-yet undecided fee, either flat-rate of % of takings. Even at a low 0.5% or so, the vendor makes lots of cash without digging into my profits too much.

Doesn't need lots of emails to coordinate, I just put up some brandy at 80cr, and they're placed for sale at 80k. Easy

This basically makes it impossible for me to continue my doctor business because I am not dropping swords or doctor to become a merchant. It seems like they are trying to force people into a second account, this blows hardcore.I CANT AFFORD 30 dollars a month for a game!!!!I will end up giving up my doctor business because of this. Whats the fun in being a merchant doctor.....I can heal you and sell you **edit** but I can beat up a durni.

No, do you want to be a professional doctor, and offer good services, and take care of patients, and sell them supllies / other doctors supplies? Or do you want to be able to make / use good meds, plus be able to kill lots of stuff, but not worry about running the 'business' end of it? You cant and IMO shouldnt be able to do it all in this game.

What the hell makes you think that a Doc working AND selling supplies to others that don't care to make their own is overreaching? Because you feel the need to justify something that should never have been split off - others shouldn't be able to utilize their own professions fully? The 'business' end is where the emotional payoff is for a large segment of those players that want to craft - it's the final end contact with the customer. Oh, but they aren't entitled to that now are they. As many and as deep as the skilltrees are - how in the world does this equate to 'doing it all'?

I'd wager there aren't just a ton of 'merchants' that actually WANT to play accountant - which is what buying and reselling amounts to. Note: If that's what you WANT to do - you can right now, always could. This is just a poor bet all the way around - I'd be just about ready to guarantee SOE will lose far more accounts than they'll gain in multiples, cause that's what folks are more likely to do - than go thru the pain and aggrivation to sell to YOU. However, since most folks that can afford the luxury of multiple accounts already HAVE them - I just don't think they are gonna get that many more.

Excuse me, but this is merely your opinion, and apparently it's not shared by a large majority of those on this board, including myself. I think that, while it's certainly not perfect, Merchant is a perfectly viable profession. IMO, a better solution is to enhance the abilities of merchants so that they can better address the needs of non-merchants.

I want to be able to use a T-21! I demand the devseliminate rifleman and roll it into merchant!

I am not a master merchant or anything like that and in matter of fact I have ZERO merchant skills. But I have taken up enough skills to have a vendor and the4n dropped the skill. I currently use my vendor quite frequently and was wondering do I have to remove everything off this vendor before the update goes live so it doesnt get deleted? And question #2 is, do I have to stick with merchant with the next patch in order to keep a vendor? I only have 1 account thats a doc/swords and I cant afford to drop either one to stay with strictly merchant. It would be pointless IMO.

Your vendor will continue to operate normally but you will not be able to add more items for sale until you have sufficient skill to support them.

If you have no skill, you can list no items. Once your items expire, they will go into the stockroom for up to 7 days. After your vendor has been empty for 2 weeks, it will poof.

You will need at least business 3 to have a viable vendor.
