Thread: I closed my shop and removed all vendors

I'm prettyfed up with the new "Untouched for two weeks rule" and guess removing all items from vendors and start to sell them by auction is the only safe way to do business now.

While leaving vendor with zero item for even two days is a sin (as it cause all inconvenience to shoppers), but I could hardly image that a vendor not visited for two weeks deserve self-destruction.

What's up with trainers in player city not patronized for two weeks? should they be destroyed next?

2 weeks?

It takes 30 days for an offer on a vendor to expire. It now takes an additional 30 days for that item to disappear from the stockroom once it drops from the sales section.

Thats 2 months, not 2 weeks.

It is a different vendor deletion rule he is talking about. A vendor is deleted if it goes untouched for 2 weeks, weather it if 2 weeks with out the owner visiting or costume can reset that timer as well is unknown.
Also I doubt that a vendor only with items in the stock room will count as a "not empty vendor".

Maybe you can sell to a real merchant then? Obviously you dont want to be one. Good luck!

there are several posts about that and not yet any good answer officially :/

this here is a different thing here.

here is talked about the patch note "empty OR 2 weeks untouched vendor get deleted"

this is a very important part. this little OR is very confusing, if it would be an AND then all woudl be fine and understandable.

so i and alot others waiting for a confirmation on this here.

i strongly hope its an AND not an OR, cause OR would make simply no sense at all, plus would destroy the whole profession.

imagine u go on vacation for 3 weeks (what isnt very improbable) or even 4 weeks , you come back and all your stocked vendors are deleted? that would make alot stress and anger.

This must be that player-interaction that everyone raves about so much. I definitely feel much more immersion when everyone works and plays together so well. /end sarcasm

Well, I for one can think of a number of circumstances where this can be a problem. Being on yearly training for the military (two weeks, including the weekends, which is 16 days), possible electrical outages caused by hurricanes, floods, and other natural disasters, computer hardware problems, vacations, and being on travel/training for your job. Some of these give you time to plan, some of them don't.

Another brilliant well-thought-out overreaction to a perceived supposed-exploit. All that would have been needed, is to allow items to naturally drop off, let them further drop out of the storeroom, and then (and only then) when the vendor is completely absolutely empty is when you start the timer to eliminate the vendor. Granted, this would take a while, but would be better than having someone lose items through no fault of their own.

Sony? Are you there? Can you hear me now?

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Maybe this is dangerous to assume, but I'm thinking that ANY "visits" to a vendor will count, and only if it is EMPTY for 2 or more weeks will it get deleted. So if you are gonna be away for an extended time, put something on it for 99 million credits the day before you leave, and have a friend or Guildmate "check" the vendor every few days. This will give you 6 weeks to vacation before the vendor *might* get deleted.

I will probably get flamed for this...BUT....I don't honestly care...

I am a merchant, have been for a very long time. I'm probably THE longest running tailor on Shadowfire, or damn close to it.

If you do not check your own vendors a measly 1 time within 2 weeks, it deserves to be deleted.

Why have the profession if you aren't going to play it?

I recently went on vacation. I had a friend log on and check them for me. There are ways around it.
