Many a naysayer said it didn't matter that poached vendors were there. "They don't hurt you". To wit, I always responded that they did indeed hurt me by 'stealing' business from me that I, or other power brokers, would have gotten.
Sure enough, I surveyed all the known brokers on Eclipse and more than half are gone.... as I predicted. Business is up and the credits are rolling in.
The proof is in the profits. Don't mess with the Dingo for he will bite you in the ass!
To the naysayers, please present your apologies for your ignorance below.

I have noticed a small surge in business this far. My vendors are a bit off the beaton trail though. Also I've had an increase in custom orders of late.

I'm not sure I would attribute it to the poached vendors. Overall there are just fewer people crafting and selling. People are going for their Jedi.
Others probably just dropped some defence stacking and picked up Merchant 0002 like I did.
Merchant still needs alot of work. The other 3 trees are practically worthless. I'm doing about 6mil business a day with few merchant skills.

My buisness has dropped dramatically, High end buff packs are in for a rough ride on my server, dumping and undercutting to get rid of stock is rampant. I've had to drop my prices far enough that the profit margin is almost non-existant. Advertising heavily in many ways, diversifying vendors (I'm at Master now) has had little effect. My groups treasury is already at -7 million for the month (which for us is huge). Basically, it sucks.

Panicking will get you nowhere. What you should have done is 'stuck' to your guns and then went round and bought up all the competition dumping product. Just a couple days ago, I even went round the galaxy and bought out ever other power broker to the tune of 25million credits worth. Also a good sales tactic. They will come especially when everybody else is out of stock /giggle.

Some of us don't work with that much capital. I've also spent about 8 months working up brand recognition, so selling other product, particularly since i have savy customers who like to e-mail the product creators and not me for refills, is not an attractive option, even if I had the working capital to purchase. We pride ourselves on being frugal and working as a group off of what is availible to us, but since P10 our group hall treasury has dropped as low as 300k.
Our Chefprofits are also tanking...not due to lack of sales, dumping or interest however...but due to BE's. The BE market has dropped out of existance on Naritus it seems. All of our regular vendors for supplies have dissapeared, tissue prices have skyrocketed. The major players have shut down their buisnesses, those we talked to stated reasons sited on this board before the patch. To get enough just to keep the vendor stocked i'm having to run Janta missions and doling out my personal funds on a daily basis.
Its getting to the point that i'm not sure if selling finished product is going to be viable for our guild anymore...and we're a crafter and merchant guild. Our mall is less then 1k out of a major hub, 17 diversified, well stocked vendors on the map, 4 merchants (3 masters).
The only thing that is selling well because its at a system set amount of cost is resources - when you sell at 1-1.5 cpu, and a little more for really good or despawned resources. I hate to move into this market because i'm a crafter at heart, I look at resources as building blocks and not product, but it's getting cose to being the only option to get us out of this hole.

Don't listen to them, Dingo. They're just too ignorant to know how much the merchant nerf has benefitted them.

My buisness has not improved that much, and is likely more tied to my offering more goods since I have more Vendors to sell with now.
What has improved lot tho is shopping I can find stuff much faster now the the sea of empty vendors is gone.

Aside from delusional thinking that this patch improved anything beyond removing empty vendors from the map... What should be asked instead of "how this has improved your business" is rather "How this has improved the profession".
I have heard about so many improvements and additions that the devs are going to implement for the profession now and how they are going to make it so that 3/4th of the trees aren't worthless. Oh wait.. nevermind.

I have seen a spike in sales recently. Not sure if it's attributableonly to the vendor change. Most likely it is a combination of that, as well as a lot of people grinding FS exp and not crafting so much anymore.
I am on Lok and now there are only one other WS and no other DE vendors on the map besides mine so that probably makes a difference.
One weird change is that my power vendor gets cleaned out as soon as I can stock it these days. I want to raise my prices but the vendor name is "Power - 1 cpu"
I guess I'll have to make a new vendor lol.

I haven't had a chance to check vendors on the planetary map today, but last time I checked a couple of days agothere were just as many WS vendors as before the vendor patch. Personally I haven't really noticed any change in sales, which is okayby mebecause I was doing pretty well. Hopefully, a few weeks after these changes some of the vendors will start dropping off the map.
