Thread: How many crafters have even bothered to do any work with your vendors since this all started?

I for one havent even felt like setting up a factory run since this all started, much less do a restock.

Its just sucked out all the joy I had in my craft.

I have, I pulled everything off and then put it all back on at discount pricing in order that I can pull down all my vendors when I leave the game at the end of the month when my sub expires.

It was fun while it lasted but its not fun anymore

WoW here I come.

Well, since I'm planning on cancelling all of my accounts if this goes to live, I thought I would experiment a little bit. So I am taking my four accounts, and giving all of them merchant skills points. I'm going to see if I can possibly work out a way to stay afloat, even with severe restrictions on the vendors. One of the biggest problems is going to be how to inform the customer of what items happen to be on which vendor. There are so many dumb name restrictions, and you can't rename a vendor after it is created. It would be so much easier if the item number cap would be per merchant, rather than per vendor. Then I'd just put up one vendor, and let the customer page through (the smart ones, anyway). I guess that isn't possible for the devs to do.

The other possibility I thought of, was to group items into backpacks that have a huge price on them. Then the customer has to have me present to pull out the backpack, hand them an item in return for credits, and relist the backpack. The name of the backpack could indicate the per-item cost, and a description of the items.

In other words, there are no good work-arounds for this. Nobody is going to keep trying to contact a merchant to buy anything other than necessities, which are weapons and armor. Everything else is fluff. Pets, droids, clothes, crafting items. Even harvesters are fluff, because that is something for a crafter, and there won't be many of those left.

The end is near.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

It's still business and usual. And will continue to be business as usual in my shop. Even with caps.

I've stopped stocking my vendors. I need to get my item count down alot because I'm already struggling for storage space (I don't use vendors for storage, I'm too lazy to keep listing things every month ).

I'm only finishing up special orders...my /afk message explains why I am not restocking at this time to my customers.

I am hopeful the cap will be raised and I agree with many of the posters who think the devs are "low balling" us so we feel grateful with the final number. Who knows? Maybe we will,

5 stars for you....

The biggest problem isn't the merchant nerf itself. We thought we had killed this bad idea once, and here it is rearing it's ugly head again. How many times does crap like this have to happen before customers lose confidence? I've already lost it. No matter what happens, I'm afraid to log in NOW to restock. Even if we beat this off, can we say for certain we wont face the same damned crisis in 2 months? What if they get the nerf, and the item limit isn't so bad. Does this mean they WON'T come back in 2 months and say, sorry folks it wasn't enough, we have to nerf you again?

I've restocked my vendor in an attempt to bring down the database server. It didn't work as intended.

I've just lost the enthusiasm for it. If thingsgo live as they are now,I don't want to be stuck with a surplus of 1000 items that will rot away in my stockroom. So no restocking for me until we hear something more definite.

I'm a master tailor/architect, and when I logged on today I restocked everything at the same price as usual. It was hard, but I made myself do it. I'm not going to lower my prices to get rid of excess. I'm going to force myself to go on, business as usual, but it's not easy. This will be looming over my head like a dark cloud until it's announced how much we'll be nerfed, and when. When I have a concrete number in my head of how much I have to reduce, and how long I have to do it, then I'll have one big blowout sale a week before the change.

Another thing I've been doing is taking items off of my stock vendors (Yes, I"m one who does that, but I put the skills into merchant, did not drop them, and I pay the maintenance on them, and if I want to hire them as inventory clerks, that should be my choice), but I have not been putting anything on my stock clerks. Hopefully I"ll get that wittled down a bit before the changes are made.

Factories are silent here. Vendors are only selling off what stock they currently have. Payment has been stopped on all the accts. I urge you all to do the same to send a message.
