Okay, guys, I was rather peeved when I saw that they put TC Vendor Changes through, anyway, when we were so clear that we did not want it.
However, the system that is currently implemented right now is NOT what they first suggested.
You can see what is for sale and the distance it is from the terminal, and can create waypoints and see if the building has an entrance fee, but you CANNOT see the price of the item and you definitely cannot buy the item from the Bazaar terminal.
This is GOOD. It means that people won't be undercutting each other, but at the same time, if someone is looking for something they don't have to look through a bazillion vendors.
Rejoice, people. It is not so bad, and it may even help your business, because the current implementation will NOT hurt pricing, and will definitely help our consumers find what they want, which will in turn help us.
So just calm down, everyone.
This is not the end by a long shot.

Right now on TC you can double click the listing and get a detail screen that has the price and a Buy button.

Wow right now this sounds like the Devs pushing through changes that nobody want (like the snappier movement that everyone said they didn't like). I'm am still not clear on this new system.
If you have items list on your vendor they will be also shown on the bazaar? Will bazaar listings and other vendors listing be seperated from each other?
Are these changes sceduled to be put in the normal servers or are the simply testing out to get feedback?
Well if the the Dev's do what they have proven to do in the past, they will make the changes no matter what people say so if this pisses you off just call SOE and tell them you canceling your account because of it because thats about the only thing they seem to care about (your 15 bucks a month).

Problem is, your message here is utterly and patently 100% NOT the truth. I went and checked myself. You CAN see prices and buy from the bazaar. - Instead of putting it on the main screen as originally designed, they hid the option with a double click only.
There is no bad side IMObecause you can not "sort by price", beside it would not be so good when traveled and find price as 99999999

The bad side I see, they can buy from the bazaar...
If I ban someone from my store, so they cannot directly purchase my wares,
They can ,with this system as is,BUY from the bazaar,
then call it "me greifing them"
when they cannot access the store to retreive {being previously banned}

So the only logical solution is to prevent merchants from being able to ban, addignore, set entrance fees, or be mean to anyone...

What he said.
However, without the price and buy button, the system wouldn't be such a bad thing.
...well, except for the lack of a skill point cost and the outrageous numbers of items you'll have to sort through.

I still say it needs to be high level advertising or master merchant to use.... give some more meaning to the merchant profession.

They DO have to look through a bazillion vendors - Just don't have to physically go to them.

So just calm down, everyone. This is true - The end is NOT in sight by a long shot. I give it 6 months until we have delivered items, because the people who asked for delivery outnumber the Merchants. And as we now see - What the majority want, the majority gets. This is not the end by a long shot.

I would agree that this system will help my sales increase. That's never really been the point though. Preserving the interesting gaming experience we got from being a Merchant is the ultimate goal, I would think.
Since we're all about taking advise on altering professions from folks that arn't a part of that profession, I've got an idea or two of my own... *rollseyes*

This change down right sucks for merchants. I really hope that this does not go live. I certainly do not feel like re-listing out the arguements, as it inevitably doesn't seem to matter what type of player input the DEVS receive. But pleeease do not put this live! /tantrum
