Thread: Access fee is now capped at 50k
/sigh
Well, at least someone get their wish. I remember reading a thread a few weeks ago asking to cap the access fee because his/her friend 'accidentally' paid 10 million in access fee.
I use my vendor to sell thingsto my guildmate extremely cheap and I use access fee to prevent other players from taking advantage of it. Oh well ...
On the other hand, it might be a good thing. In the long run, it might reduce all the junks in the game databaseand get the economy moving a bit faster.
Thanks a bunch PepeGSay. Why didn't I think of that sooner? ![]()
I just hope my guildie have enough money topay up front ![]()
Plus, most of them are too nice to take discounts. That's another story.
Yeah, unfortunatly that guy that paid the 10million was me. :/
You get so used to fee's being 1 - 100 credits that when you are running around checking vendors that supposedly have things on them (which always turn out to be empty), that I didn't check close enough and hit ok.
I never go into any house that have access fee unless I know the person. Too many run ins with empty or low stocked vendors.
Btw, did you get your money back?
Of course not... but many people haven't seen him on much since he got banned from so many stores either. Here is the original thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Ahazi&message.id=120742&page=1
If your guildies dont have the money up front bank tip works well if they are online at the same time.
/tip name bank 5000
or
/tip bank name 5000
not sure I just use both untill I get it right I use bank tip daily.
No one could figure out why their tips weren't going through until they found the richest guy on the server whose first name happened to be Bank.
Another nerf brought about by inattentive whiners ![]()
Now we REALLY need access restrictions on vendors. I have had to give up guild specific vendors for now.
I personally refuse to shop at a store that requires an 'entrance fee', regardless of how minor it may be. They should be in the business of selling, not collecting 'entrance fees'.
If a person is a good enough merchant, then he/she will not need any entrance fees to make money, because the sale of their goods should more than cover that.
Trance,
Ithink most of the true non-holo merchants are upset by this because the only way to have a somewhta private vendor for custom orders or offer 1 credit items to a PA is to set up a vendor and charge an astronomical price to get in. The need for private vendors is there and we all know SOE will not make this a priority. I understand not wanting to shop at a store that has a entry fee but again you are dealing with a broken game mechanic. Merchants should get XP on sales thus being a merchant not by how many people enter a store. If you set up a shop on 5th Ave in NYC that everyone goes in but no one buys anything from you are a crappy merchant the same should apply here.
Jaxx is correct that one person complaining will not do anything to make the devs change a game feature. Jaxx even made it clear that it was his mistake and he was willing to accept the loss. What frustrates me are the hundreds of other people that did not see the 7 extra zeros after the 1 and obviously went to SOE and complained.
The point is we NEED some way of providing relatively private vendors for PA uses as well as special and custom orders. Should this be so hard. And having to sell things on a vendor and refunding the price is a total pain in the rear. If I had to do that with my PA vendor I would never do anything else in the game plus I would loose a ton of money on the bank tip feature.
I just can not believe the stupidity of lowering the entry fee so low all because people are in a rush to push the accept fee button. Our PA entry fee used to be 20 million credits. 1 million for each member if anyone malliciously entered our PA hall. Obviously if someone was lucky enough to have that much cash on them and they accidentily clicked yes but did not take anything off our vendor I would have gladly refunded the credits.
