Thread: Items on Vendor 10% more?
talk to your mayor. But it's very likely there's a tax. I'm surprised your mayor would just add a tax like that without sending a e-mail to the citizens.

10%? Yikes, I'd be outta there in a flash. I'd move my shop just outside of town and send the mayor a nasty letter telling him how much tax he's going to miss out on by charging an ungodly rate.
I would suggest you talk calmly and productively with the mayor and suggest that a 10% sales tax is move than you can bear and stay in his city. A more reasonable tax would be somewhere between 2-6% Personally if you live there you should be willing to allow a modest and reasonable tax rate to help pay for the enormous costs of running a city. Even a modest township can run 200k a week or better.
I have noticed with my vendors that if I place one, and place items on it, the income tax is not added in until the server goes through a restart. After the restart, the prices are updated to include the sales tax for the city.
Did you recently set up your vendors?

Whenever a tax change (sales, property, income) is made by the Mayor for the city, an email should be generated to the entire populace of the city.

The change is supposed to be immediate when you place items on it. My venders were delayed doing it for a while too but now update immediately. I don't think it is a server reset. I think it is just lag in the update being made to the prices.
And I just set up a new vendor a day or 2 ago, and the problem remained.

Mine were doing that too for a while but they don't do it any more, they update as I put the items on. I don't know why they sometimes don't update. I never noticed it being a server reset though when mine were doing it. It was several hours though.
