Thread: Vendors are EATING items put up after the last big update! PLEASE READ!!!!
Well it appears that vendors are eating items...I have stuff on two vendors that was not sold and never made it back to my stockroom (about a million credits worth of stuff easily). I check my vendors everyday so I would have noticed.
It appears that this is happening to a lot of people. I don't know exactly what is missing (I know what types of stuff are missing)..But I am sure that SOE has logs that they can look at and compare too so I am not worried because I know the good folks at SOE will replace the lost items.
This is just a heads up that you better keep an eye on your stuff! These are items that were put on a vendors created before and after the last big update. The items were all put up after the last big update. The stuff that was put up BEFORE the big update ended as usual and went to the stockroom.
If this has happened to you post here! keep this at the top. It needs to get noticed. /bug it and ctrl H and open a ticket to let them know that this has happened to you too!

I posted this in the other forums as well. To date we have lost an estimated 1000 items off of our vendors totalling over 15 million credits' worth of losses. Our tickets have gone unanswered, the friendly CSR in the chat asked us to have our merchants e-mail him directly....and it has gone without a reply, with not even an indiciation that the mail was received.
This is a complete outrage. Would be nice to get some kind of reply.
I know a guy who had a slightly different issue.
The vendor just started malfunctioning.. couldn't open it.
He lost 10 million worth of inventory on the vendor... SoE csr's worked on it but as far as I know 10 days have gone by and he had to eat the loss himself.
Ok folks as usual we have to have facts and plenty of them to help the dev team figure out what is going on. So try to give me as much detail as you can. I am particularly interested in the theory posted elsewhere that this is related to timing. Can any of you give me an idea if all of the items were placed at the same time? Were they placed after the last big update? Someone mentioned a 14 day window? Is this the case?
Please try NOT to post information in this post about other issues like the initialize but or the malfunctioning vendor bugs. I am not trying to down play those bugs but I am trying to get as much info on the items vanishing as I can.

After the last update I pulled all items off my two vendors, into my inventory and then relisted them to get the 30 day listing time. If I had to guess I'd say I did that on Friday evening, 11/14. I know I did major restocking on the 15th, and that was *after* I relisted my current items. When I checked my vendors mid-afternoon on the 29th I noticed my stock levels were much lower than I expected. Unfortunately I can't check to see if any items had survived past 14 days, because I pulled everything off and moved them to new vendors. It does appear that the older items I had (some things in odd colors that I didn't really expect to sell) were what was lost. I do track my sales in detail so it's easy to see if the blue and pink camos actually sold (they didn't).
There are some pretty heavily stocked vendors in my neighborhood. I'll take a look around tonight and see if anyone has any items with less than 16 days remaining (30 - 14).

Almost the exact same situation as explained above. Created new vendors after the patch, re-stocked them. Suddenly I have gone from 700+ items on all my vendors to 315. There are NO ITEMS that have less then 16 days remaining. I lost close to, if not more than 2 million credits in medicines and krayt weapons.
Not to mention that when you sell items from the stockroom they only fo up for 7 days.
I thought Merchants were getting some love from the devs, but it looks like our nightmare has just begun.
There are 2 seperate issues occuring:
1) Vendor losing items.
2) Vendor is malfunctioning
Both of these result in no reimbursment from the CSR's.
1) Vendor losing items from what I hear could very well be a result of time like others have stated. 30 days the merchant says the item will be sold for... but how would one go about testing this? Who knows?
2) I personally saw a friend's vendor malfunction a day or so after it was placed. The maintenance was paid (150 days worth of maintenance). He ended up losing over 10 million credits in inventory on the vendor. CSR's couldn't do anything about it. Couldn't reimbure him. Multiple sets of stormtrooper armor, krayt pearls, force crystals, faction items... etc...
I really think we deserve a comment by a developer on this issue. I mean this is a HUGE bug that means that a merchant can lose everything he worked so hard to gain for 6 months in one big swoop.
This is completely unfair.
I am scared to actually use my vendors... I actually took some of the rarer items on my vendors off them.. pretty lame. I am scared to use my vendors.
I restocked items over several days atfer the last patch (for a total of 400 items roughly). Everything that was on longer than 14 days so far has vanished. I have several items with 16.5 days left (thus 13.5 have passed), and I guarantee that by tomorrow they will no longer exist if not sold. This theory seems to be backed up by large numbers of players on the general forums.
If anyone has a dev's ear, they need to grab it and pull hard tonight! Every second people are losing items, and this needs a hotfix tonight, even a temporary fix. There has been more than enough analysis to send this to the devs, and it's the most critcal bug I've seen in SWG. If ever we need our correspondent to jump up and down and scream loudly about an issue, this is it...this is not crying wolf. If no immediate fix or no reimbursement policy (with THEM tracking lost items, not us) then I'll call it quits.
14 days is the key here. Once the 14th day is over, the items delete.
We placed 20 lighting cannons, and 20 crates of cryo grenades 16 days ago. Yesterday the remaining 12 unsold ones went poof.
15 days ago i placed 100 misc med supplies on a vendor. Yesterday i had 35 left. Today the rest went poof.
Whats happening is after items reach 7 days ..somehow a timer simular to the stockroom timer is triggered...anter another 7 days (14) total the time runs out. At the moment the 14 days runs out ...the items are being deleted.
If my theory is correct..i should lose about 200 - 700 items today, and close to 400 items tomorrow.

Add me to the list of people who lost items 14 days old. Several hundred items were gone, nothing with lessthan 16 days was still on vendor. Submitted ticket.
Same thing happened to me. My vendors ate hundreds upon hundreds of articles of clothing I had for sale. I have 3 pre-patch npc vendors I sell my clothing through. I never saw the need to update my vendors to post-patch. A day or so after the patch, I withdrew all my sales and pulled a few out of the stockroom at a time to resell them from my own inventory so I would get the 30 day sale timer. Between the 3 vendors I probably had 1000 articles of clothing for sale. I've probably sold a few hundred items between then and now. Well, today I noticed I only have about 150 items on my 3 vendors. I know I sold nowhere near that many items and it looks to me like I lost around 600 items. I haven't checked my vendors in the past few days, so I'm not sure when I lost most of those. I did check my emails and while I did have a number of vendor sales, it wasn't anywhere close to 600 of them. The shortest amount of time left on any of my vendor sales is 17 days. I'll keep an eye on them in the next couple days and see if they poof after they go below 16 days (testing the 14 day theory others have).
Just some random facts that might help: None of my vendors are in a player city. As far as I can tell, none of them are on a server boundry. They are pre-patch npc vendors (2 Twi'lek females, 1Bothan male). I loststuff under the Clothing category, Jewelry category, Wearable Containers category, Food category, Drink category. None of it is in my stockroom.
