Thread: Premium sales business II
Regards,
Artuk
I asked a CSR about this the other day. I was told that it was "unoffical" that all the premium does is allow the listing to be in the top 100 of sales. I see this as the most retarded thing in the world....and how exactly do they guarntee this? It costs 100 credits...and you get to list it in the 100 items. Anyone else see a flaw in this system?
Say 10 people list 11 things each as being "premium". Um......we have a problem. Thats more than 100 items. So..basically, if there were 10 of us selling items atthe exact sametime, and each requested "premium" sales, the first person who posted would be out of luck. He would get charged 100 credits, and a couple secs later..there item would no longer be in the top 100.
Its a horrible system...and poorly thought out. They should just highlight your item, or have another tab in the bazzar for "premium"...OR better yet...do it as a true merchant would. Merchants should be the ones listing on the bazzar, so we should get a discount...not an extra charge for listing there. Call it a "premium" item...but say it free for us to post on the bazzar. That way crafters will ask for us and we can slowly move them from listing on the bazzar to listing items on our personal vendors. If you going to have a player run economy....the economy should at least make sense.

I'm not one to gripe much about the game. So far, I'm having lots of fun... but this is a big contention in my mind.
But Business II is a waste. I really liked the notion of the premium auction, before I realized that it didn't work. They should have figured out a different way of handling this:
-Set up a seperate auction area for Premium Bids.
-You've got to have a reason for people to want to use premium auction items. Something HAS to make the items more desirable, if the auction house gets flooded with items to the point that no one can see the stuff. Even a non-game affecting mod (lighting effects, sound effects, color choice, ANYTHING).
-Change the whole basis of Business II.
On the plus side... this step is so lame that it will make merchants rare indeed! Anyone brave enough to take Business II, just to get to Business III and the merchant class will be a few and far between. I'm going to continue on with this class, since I bought the CP's anyway.
What if they made it so that premium listings increased max bid to 4000. This would kind of provide an out to all those people whining that 3000 is too low and would make it more expensive to place an item that costs so much.
Personally I think they should just raise the limit to 4000 and move to a 5% charge for listing on the bazaar (that'd be about 200 creds for a 4000 cred item) with a 20 cred minimum. And then have it so that each reduced fee a merchant gets reduces the fee by 1% which would leave it at 2% at master (80 creds at 4000). But the first paragraph would work fine to solving the premium problem in the meantime and prolly be easier to program.
Grr this board system sucks. Tired of retyping messages.
"I was told that it was "unoffical" that all the premium does is allow the listing to be in the top 100 of sales. "
It doesnt work this way either. I tested this repeatedly and all my premium sales still showed up way deep in the pages, not even remotely close to the top 100.
If premium sales did this I would be satisfied with the skill. As a weaponsmith I cant really use the bazaar to sell my weapons. 8 pages of crappy cdefs selling for 20 credits makes selling anything worthwhile a pain for me and for my customers. If all premium items were listed first, say in order of being posted, then followed by all non-premium sales then the 100 credit cost would mean that all the junk would atleast come after the better items. It wont be perfect as I am sure that there will always be some idiot wanting to spam the bazaar system with crap, but it will be better then it is now.
