Thread: Idea for merchant?

I am sure this has been thought of.. just wondering its possible.


1. At the master merchant box you get the ability to place a vendor, only 1 per master merchant, in a major city of your choice.

2. Restrict the placement to the different buildings around town and have an npc standing at the door barking what vendorsare inside it. The npc would scroll between the different names of the vendors. I.E.

!!Fryloches Master weapons!! or Meatwads Smuggled Goods.


This would be a great place to put the most important items you have to sell and would increase the population of the static cities, which desperately need some foot traffic.If it was restricted to 1 vendor per person it wouldn't get over crowded and you would have to master to obtain it and retain it. It might even make some of the less traveled cities worthwhile, by making them merchant hubs.

I love the idea, but player cities need the sales too I think. I still think PCs was a bad idea, but they need to have a reason to live.

ya thats kinda why i said only one per master merchant. How many are gonna keep master merchant just for that.Also, you could work it so that if its empty the vendor leaves. Makin only the best vendors who are kept up in town. They could be used to point to your vendors in your player city too.

Coronet is crowded enough without having vendors there too.


Personally I think they should only do that if they add spaceports to Player Cities to spread the traffic between all cities on all planets, and thus removing the odds of afk spam in the cities.

acutally coronet starport is crowded.. not the entire city.. if you move away from the starport there is no one there except for the cantina. If you put vendors in all the buildings it would spread people out while they shop.

I think that's a good idea. As it stands now the only reason to visit astatic city is to usethe star port. Most player cities have shuttle ports, cloning centers, cantinasand vehicle repair garages. It gives people a reason to be in Theed again.


Also it would add more realism than just having empty buildings within the cities.

Yes this is is my opion exactly It would add alot more realism to have a good reason for those buildings.

At master I would like to have:


Merchant tent not cost you that darn lot!


and


Surveying droid....Get to planet you want to survey on. Pick resource. Send it out and it tells you where higher concentration of lets say 50%+ is located for example.

Nice ideas, all of them, would like to see the removal of the merchant barkers though, spam is bad enough as it is.


Merchant tent with not lots at Master would allow merchants to have masses of the for storage purposes, and as such is unlikely.


The survey tool giving WP's to high percent spots seems more likely to be assigned to Artisans than Merchants.


One thing I've like to see at Master Merchant though, is the ability to get your vendors ID'd..

you would still be capped on how many tents you could place of course. Surveying at merchant. if your a master merchant. Your an artisan or crafter so if might not be too out of line.

Well by having only 1 barker per building it might actually lower spam.

Except the spot would probably be on the side of a mountain . . .
