Thread: Self Stim B's & Band Aids for ALL Players?

I just wanted to get your professional opinion about this:

What would you think if all players were able to use Stim B's not terribly effective First Aid, but only on themselves?

What about being able to use rudimentary First Aid on themselves, akin to slapping on a Band Aid, as opposed to cauterizing or stitching themelves or anyone else up?

Would it be considered robbing your proffesion?

Or would you see it as a business opportunity, as every player would be able to use products only you can make?

If players wished to heal others or make Stims, they would still need to enter the medical profession.

Here's my thinking:

- As I said: a much bigger market for medicine. Right now, anybody can buy and use armor, houses, clothing, among other things, but they can't use any medication unless they are a medic.

- In real life, doctors perscribe medicine to their patients. Most patients have not even the slightest idea of how to make medicine, but they can use it. It's right for a doctor to give me perscription meds, but its wrong for me to give them to others. So here: I could use some meds on myself, but not on anyone else. Anyone can go to the corner drug store and buy some bandages.

-If all players could use Stim B's, they still would not be able to use Stim C's-E's. They still would not be able to tend wounds/damage, make meds, orpretty much anything else your profession can do. Only you would be able to heal other players.

- There aren't many leftover skill points for folks to play with. I plan on becoming a Master Bounty Hunter, which leaves me with 32 points to put into anything. That's not much. I have Novice Medic, and LOVE being able to use Stim B's. They've saved my hide inumerable times. I can't make any myself, nor do I care to. So I paid a bit more than 90,000 credits for two crates of high quality Stim B's, and from what little I know, that seems to be a good deal. But I had to sink 15 skill points just to be able to use them. That leaves me with only 17 skill points. I am also an Entertainer. At one point, I was a Novice Musician, but I've had to give that up to free up skill points. I don't really care about being able to heal mind or battle fatigue. I just want to role play a bounty hunter who moonlights as a horn player to let off some steam. I am going to give up Pistoleer so I can still play 2 songs on my horn (if I've done my math right). The way things stand, players don't have much wiggle room to set themselves apart from anybody else. I'm ok with leaving things as they are. I'm still allowed some amount of diversity. But I'd sure like to be able to be even more diverse.

What do you think?

This would kill me. I would go insane. I'm one of the healers who will not ever sell stimpacks to anyone. I have got so many tells from people asking me to sell them stim b's that I have put in my profile: NO I WILL NOT SELL YOU STIMPACK B'S UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE SO PLEASE DONT ASK ME!

And I still get people asking. Now just imagine what it would be like if EVERYONE could use them? Good god I would log on and it would be like BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

No.

Healing is no different than harvesting or dancing or intimidate or surveying...

You want it, pay the 15 points.

i agree make em spend the 15 points, stim B's are the best stim a medic can use right now until they get diag 4(unless you experiment), and you want to give it to everyone even if they dont have any skills.

I don't think all players should be able to use stimpacks or medpack but if they HAD to put it in, I say give them ONLY the stimpack A's, no medpacks, just the stim As

-Alistaire Goldenblade (Bloodfin)
Master Marksman, Scout(4-0-4-1), Creature Handler(3-3-2-2), Rifleman(4-4-4-3)

-Alistaire Goldenblade (Lowca)
Master Medic, Master Doctor, Novice Carbineer

-Costik (Tarquinas)
Fencer(1-0-0-1), Pistoleer(3-3-3-3), Smuggler(4-2-1-4)

Im almost a master bh myself, and i use stim B's and wound B's that are very nice stats,

I agree with the stim and woundpack A's being 0 skill. Why would you put stimpack A and B on the same skill requirement. No wonder no one makes/sells stimpack A's cause if you got the skill to use it, why not get better ones with B's?

Im all for Stimpack /Woundpack A's being 0 skill. Would make medic's more marketable and they would be able to sell these probably for more than you would sell the B's at. As it would keep people from dabbling in your skill tree.

It wouldn't make anyone more marketable. Almost everyone in the game already has novice medic, and most of those people buy Bs from doctors.

You can't increase a market that already includes everyone it will ever include.

I'd say if they had to put it in they can have the heal damage ability that novice medics get that hurts mind and creates BF everytime you use it. No stims.

Well I guess I'm not part of everyone then. I don't have the extra 15 points to waste. It would be nice to heal at some points but I'm not in combat much so there is no point in spending the points.

Odd that I can heal my pet for 1k+ a shot but can't manage to heal a small wound on myself.

A's maybe. B's no. Simple as that. B's can be experimented to be way too effective which would simply kill the need for anyone to want a medic/combat medic/doctor in their group. You remove class interdependency on medics and you'll quickly alienate three professions.

NO NO NO NO NO, and again NO.

You can get a stim B which will heal almost all of a player's health/action. What's the point of a medic? Stim As I could agree with, but not Bs.
