Healing time is ridiculously long!

I was healing some people last night in a Med center. I had 10-15 people waiting at times. One heal every 30s is way to long. If a player has 100 health wounds. At 30s a heal it will take 50 Min to heal one bar on one person. One guy I healed had 250+ on health and action. A number of players without clones came in after death needing healing bad and I helped them over less hurt players.

If the 30s wait was limited to each attribute so we could heal action then health while action regens would help. Or/and if the 30s didn’t stop medic from healing another player at the same time. Heal one player (30s wait) turn to another player heal him (30s wait) turn back and heal the first player again and so forth.

I healed 3-4 players in like 3 hours. Got 1010c in tips (1000 from one player). I received a load of xp, however it cost me many medpacks and resources to craft them and a load of game time. In the same time I could have run at least close to 20 deliver missions to other cities and made close to 12,000c. At the same time gathering resources and crafting while waiting for the shuttles. I spend a half hour tending bar at the cantina selling food and drink and make 750c on tips and sales.

My point is ........ What’s the point to being a medic? I’m willing to be a healer and help other however, Dev's made to time consuming to heal and players don't make that time worth the medic's while to help em.

The healing wait time should be reduced in the medical center at the very least. There should be an advantage to healing in a facility with all the necessary equipment. Healing times while in camp or with a droid should remain the same.

cuz your playing the medic wrong...

medics really shouldnt be in the med center to xp..

the med center is the domain for doctors not medics...

you will waste a lot of time and a lot of resouces on packs healing in the med cetner without doctor skills...

so many people think im a medic i should be in the med center..thats totally the wrong mentality...you should be outside stim packing damage...that is why u have FA and dia which raise DAMAGE healing and speed. There is nothing in the medic line to heal increase WOUND healing and speed..that is the domain of the doctor...

I can heal a totally black H and A in about 3 mins andand only use4-5charges oneither the of my action or health wound pack Cs. thats becuase i have WOUNDtreatment 4 and WOUND speed II.

The reason you are pissed about the money is cuz u wasted a lot of time and resources...i would be more than glad to get 1000 cred for my 3 mins of healing...

I hope this helps you out...

bapess there is a bonus to healing in a med center...

you will heal much more per pack in a med center than with a droid outside of it...

and camps will affect how much you heal as well...the most advanced the campthe more you can heal bonus you get. the easiest way to check this is the examine the camps stats...

So while speed may only be decreased by training in wound speed treatment...there are bonuses to healing that come with healing in different places...

I must again emphasis that the medical center really isnt the place for medics...med center is where the doctors shine

You are saying that a medic will be able to heal out side of the Med center better? You can only use the Action and Health Packs in the med center or campsite right. So a Medic can heal like 10x faster in a camp?

That can't be right .... However I will try it in lieu of the med center tonight. You can most like heal fater with the skills you have advanced. I however am not a full time medic. I haven't spent a lot of time grinding there.

I stoped by the med center and there was no one there that could heal. Only me. So I grinded. I'm not "pissed" about the credits, or the time I spent last night. I wasn;t expecting alot of credits I knew I would waste some time. But wow I didn't expect that kind of time. I was testing the field. Selling food and drink and healing some people instead of what I normally do. So I'mjust dissapointed that it didn't go better and makes me second think about doing it on a consistant basis.

Despite what got said above, if you want to go into the med center, feel free. Medics do gain XP faster field healing (or even cantina healing) than wound healing in a med center.

But if you WANT to heal wounds in the med center, go grind out stimpacks until you can get woundpack-b's and THEN go into the med center. You'll save yourself a lot of headache, and with good components, you can get some very good wound heals off in the med center.

It's not exclusively a domain for doctors, but, at the least, do everyone involved a favor (especially yourself) and wait until you can get your hands on some woundpack-b's.

Elenora...playing a Medic in the Hospitals is NOT 'playing it wrong'.

Some people prefer to simply play in the hospital where it's safer and easier to perform medic related duties.

I never said medics can be in the med center...

i was emphasizing that medics really shine healing damage not wounds...

wounds is the speciality of doctors...

now if you want to stay in the med center feel free to do so...you well not be getting 1/2 the xp you could be getting with heals. Especially with so many doctors now, medics will be scrapping to get in a wound b inbetween huge wound C and D heals...

this will become less and less of a viable option for medics as the doctor population increases...

Im not telling you how to play the game, I am just pointing out where you are mistaken about the roles of medics.

If you look at the 2 professions with medic in the names, Medic and Combat medic, you will see that neither tree has anything to help increase ur wound healing power or speed. Medics excel at damage healing...Doctors at wound healings...

Just looking at the skill trees, this is obvious.

My advice is to make a lot of stims go to the cantina or your local popular survey area and stim away. you will make much more xp.

But if you decide to stay in the med center, you will find yourself fairly frustrated...

my first 2 days were spend in the med center but then i just packed up and moved to the tuskens and made master medic 3 days later...its very easy to xp using stims...very slow with wound packs at medic level.

It's all well and good to say that med centers are primarily the domain of doctors, except for one thing. I think I've seen maybe one doctor in the med center in all the time I've been playing. I know there's doctors out there, but they must be working on their short game at the golf course, because they sure aren't pulling shifts in the medical center.

There've been lots of time when I was the only medic or one of two medics on duty with a roomful of patients to treat.. Yeah you can stim dancers and musicians and probably make exp faster, but that doesn't help the folks sitting around with a bad case of black rot in the med center.

Heal time is fine for the class that you areplaying. It's 23 (or 30) seconds for a base medic to heal wounds. If you want faster, progress up the doctor tree. At max wound treatment speed you will be able to heal every 12 seconds. The diagnosis skill does nothing for wound treatment speed unfortunatly.

If you want to heal more, work Organic Chemistry to use B packs, or get to the proper Medicine Use level and use C/D packs.

Not dispariging your class, but it IS an entry class. If you want the best medical exp, get your butt out of the medlab and go hunting. Get in a group that is killing higher level mobs. You will be amazed at the increase in medical exp you will get form healing a hunting party versus healing wounds in the medlab.

I sat in medlab and the cantina sucking up 100 or 200 exp every 30 seconds or so for a long time. Then I followed someone's advice here and went out hunting. The first time I went on a hunting group I maxed my medical exp before time to log. If I am in medlab now it is because I am 1)bored; 2)training someone; 3)Healing a well paying customer.

If you want bigger/faster heals, head to doctor. You won't be dissapointed. When you see your first 300point wound heal you will love it. And you can get a droid to heal outside the medlab as well. Don't waste your money on a mouse droid, they are slow and get stuck while you are out hunting.

Good luck, I would not trade a healer class for anything.

Actually Elenora, you did say he was 'playing it wrong'.

and Call, you're right. I hardly see another Doc in the med center when I stop by, and I rarely spend very long in the medcenters myself.

As a medic, I had the hospitals to get my exp and help other players, as a Doc I have stim-c+ and wound c+ to make my xp with and help other players In The Field.

I get better xp in the field as a doc, why would I want to leash myself to the medcenter?
