Thread: A public apology
I have always tipped medics for healing but not being an Uber character I dont always have a ton of cash to throw about, however I do try and pay what I can and it always seems appreciated. I always thank the person as well, even when its a doc that gave me below average buffs (pre patch) as it was beyond thier control.
I got a holo from the Dant mission and for the first time decided to try and master the profession. On Eclipse I got Master Tailor and really didnt want to folow it but on Chimaera I got Master Medic as my first holo. I have always tried to be poloite and offer what I could to medics and always assumed everyone else did.
Having played a Medic now they have mny utmost sympathy. So many people run into a med centre and demand healing its untrue. If they dont get instant attention then the tantrums follow.
The strange thing is I was holo grinding the Medic profession but have been amazed by it so much I dont want to drop it. I have met so many great folks in the cantinas and on hunting trips.
It means very little to hardcore Medics, Docs etc but you have my utmost respect and I wish more apreciated what a demoralising profession it can be, but a very necessary one.

It depends... for wound healing i usually do it myself... being a master med and all... but i mean... when im getting big wounds healed, and were talking half way to full, ill tip or give a non ch mount.
It doesnt matter if some people dont tip, because its always made up by the ones that tip you 50 thousand credits.
A friend of mine who is master now.. but when he was novice, healed a guys wounds very slowly, but i gave him a tip. TALK TO YOUR PATIENT. Make the time pass as fast as is possible. He got tipped 70k by one guy and got tipped by most people, and it was all cause he talked to them.
Bedside manner is remarkably important in this game. Chatting with the patient, asking howshe got the wounds, what she was hunting, etc. goes a long way toward a better experience for both the patient and yourself. Do some role playing...it won't kill you! If they come in badly wounded, I'll pronounce them an "XP farm" and usually I'll be rewarded with a lol. Then the gang healing begins!
If the patient comes in to the medical facility with a bunch of battle fatigue or M pool wounds, I'll heal up what I can then inform them that they're getting a prescription for a lapdance at the cantina to take care of the rest of their recovery needs.

I publically appologize for all the times I never tipped a medic, CM, or doc.
The other day I played my new medic character and healed a guy for about 500 wound damage. This person proceeds to tip me 100 credits. He actually tipped me 100 credits like he's doing me a huge favor. Now I ask you. What the heck am I gonna do with a measly 100 credits?? I should've told him that I'll try not to spend it all in one place. For now on, I will tip my fellow medics, CM and docs no less thatn 2000 a pop. Anything less is a real slap in the face.
I get that now.
you could pay 1/3 of the imperial fine you get because of your backpack full of spice.
I am a medic right now (by choice) heading to Master Doc. I have never received a tip when I do it is appreciated. BUT, let me share an experience.
I joined a group to go hunting and I told the leader of the group before I was invited that I would go to heal people. At every mission location I ran around healing peeps in the group. The only time I attacked was when I was aggroed and then I ran from the encounter. My whole purpose was the healing XP. The bonus was getting the group payment when each mission was over. About half way through the missions a camp was setup and then a couple people started complaining that I was getting money from missions but not helping fight the critters. When someone mentioned that I was healing the comment was, "big deal, drop him from the group and he can still heal". Then I was asked if we had done my missions yet and I informed them I didn't get missions as I had joined the group as it was leaving to help with healing. That really started a load of "griefing" and I just left the group and went back to find another.
This is my worse experience, for the most part I have really enjoyed being a medic and just helping peeps out, even without tips. But if I ever get a tip I will definitely thank the person. And having mastered musician I certainly won't be yelling out "TIPS APPRECIATED PLEASE TIP THE MEDICS". I didn't do it as an entertainer either ![]()

I saw a guy today in Coronet Medical Center heal 5 people, one of the guys he healed had no red what so ever on his health bar. Entire bar was black, he didnt even get a thank you from any of them.
Graham, this buds for you man.
I don't know what server you are on, but on Ahazi Jeffn spent most of last night in the Coronet medical facility, and is his custom, stopped healing tumblers every time someone with wounds came in, and was tipped by every patient he treated, perhaps not hugely but as a recognition that the effort was appreciated, so SOME people out there are taking care of their docs and medics, and not just for buffs.
This morning Jeffn healed a fellow doc of some minor wounds (less than 10 points on health, action, and stamina bars) and was asked what an appropriate tip was! Jeffn replied that no tip was necessary for such minor cuts and scrapes. He did get a flurry of thank you emotes, though.
