Thread: A public apology
I normally dont tip medics for heals. I am a 2-2-4-4 Medic myself and I only use my own stim packs when on a hunt. So when I go to a hospital for heals, I expect the people healing are after XP and I presume that is thanks enough. I always thank the people who heal me though.
If this presumption is wrong, I will start to tip those who help me.

The problem with this presumption is that people need to think of healing patients as our medic missions. Combat players can get payouts for gaining xps, why not medics? I normally won't heal anyone unless they ask, mainly because I haven't seen med xps in 9 months. True several medics are happy to get the xps from the heals, but they still need to buy or craft their meds which takes money.

He actually tipped me 100 credits like he's doing me a huge favor. Now I ask you. What the heck am I gonna do with a measly 100 credits??
yup, well after mastering the entertainer, musician and dancer proffesions. Then starting medic out last night...
I've reconfirmed why I like being mostly solo, or only grouping with rl friends.
9 out of 10 players don't say thanks.
Of the 1 out of 10 left how many tip?
When I first started playing my rl buddy told me to always tip support classes. So I do. The only times I haven't are when they are AFK. Even then I sometimes do when It really helped me out (advanced planets cantinas).
Are people not being informed this anymore?
Even if the person is hologrinding his proffesion...so what?
I mean if your grinding out rifleman does the quenker/picket/etc. mission not pay you?
I give the 9 out 10 players i've encountered 1 star.
pathetic.

I have always tipped medics for healing but not being an Uber character I dont always have a ton of cash to throw about, however I do try and pay what I can and it always seems appreciated. I always thank the person as well, even when its a doc that gave me below average buffs (pre patch) as it was beyond thier control.
I got a holo from the Dant mission and for the first time decided to try and master the profession. On Eclipse I got Master Tailor and really didnt want to folow it but on Chimaera I got Master Medic as my first holo. I have always tried to be poloite and offer what I could to medics and always assumed everyone else did.
Having played a Medic now they have mny utmost sympathy. So many people run into a med centre and demand healing its untrue. If they dont get instant attention then the tantrums follow.
The strange thing is I was holo grinding the Medic profession but have been amazed by it so much I dont want to drop it. I have met so many great folks in the cantinas and on hunting trips.
It means very little to hardcore Medics, Docs etc but you have my utmost respect and I wish more apreciated what a demoralising profession it can be, but a very necessary one.

Well yes some people do get tantrums, but theres on key there, and its grinding. On eclpise most of the Hopsitals in citys have so many tumbers and afk healers. Once i had around 100 wounds on each stat and i went to coronet to get healed. There was about 20 guys in there....and all afk...Thats happened atleast twice to me. Of course i would tip the healer, but if there isn't any(mostly afker now), my tantrum starts.
I understand your frustration and reasoning, but not everyone is as reasonable. I was in the med center once to train a friend some skills (I had my title set to Novice Medic). There were about 5 medics healingtumblers, maybe a couple were AFK healing, I'm not sure. A guy runs in and sits down (with about 100+ wounds), I check everyone that walks in to cure poisons and diseases quickly. When medics are around, I wait for someone to ask to be healed, since I don't need the xps, and don't want to steal it away from that that do need it. After 5 seconds (yes 5), he startsin with, "When is someone going to $*#(ing heal me". I said that it wouldn't be me with him using that language. Then he goes off on how it's my job and if I wanted the xps, I better snap to it. I then put up my Master Doctor title and said I don't need his xps. Now he gets all polite asking for a set of buffs. I declined the sale.
This one guy displayed a huge problem with some people in the game. This guy was rude and foul mouthed when he thought I was a Novice Medic, but when he found out that I was a Master Doctor he changed his tune. Why does being a Master Doctor make me more worthy of his respect than a Novice Medic. I don't care if you need healing or not, there was no excuse for the verbal abuse this guy was dishing out. I do understand that this one type of person is not common, but new players don't know that.
