Thread: Tumbleing for tips

It seems that every time I enter the medical center in Coronetnow days it is impossible to get my wounds healed due to the fact that somebody is there "tumbleing for tips" and all the medics are AFK macro healing. I mastered medic and combat medic without using this practise and I don't think its right or fair and is just plain cheating. Just imagine going on a hunt and having to count on a medic that got to master by doing this, they wouldn't have a clue how to heal in combat. Tumbleing should be takenout of the game it is making a joke of the medic professions.

I know it's an awful thing really... You miss out on so much of the game, so much of what being a medic really is when you level this way. But people will always take the fastest path.

Tumbling is being negated in the Combat Balance in publish 11.

What I hate is walking into a med center and seeing someone spam "tumbling for tips", nobody else there needs healing so you heal the tumbler ( and tip ); and are then told by another player " don't heal the tumbler, he's mine ".

Where the heck do you buy your own personal tumbler?? What vendor sells these?

If someone is spamming " T for T ", is it fair to monopolize (sp) said player?? What exactly is common pratice here?

tumbling actually helps you wether you like it or not. I am trying to master medic,and there is a shortage of wounded players to heal!! I have taken to staking out in front of Theed starport and hitting the people zoning in with heals. Pathetic way to make a living,but when I go to Coronet med center ,there is no shortage of people healing ,so the xp is lower there then in front of Theed starport! I hit wounded players wether they ask or not,heck I even get TEF from some so I am desperately seeking any XP. Give me a tumbler anyday!! he knows what he wants and give me what I want. monopolize them never just need to increase med application time

Just pay a doc to buff the action stats of the tumbler...

Just my opinion on tumblers...

I got Master Doctor just a week ago after I've been playing around with templates the 2 months I'm playing this game now. 2 months, so I might not know how it was in the 'old' days.

Granted tumbling 'is' indeed a somewhat wrong way to train medic (although one could imagine it's a person who's there for the medical students to learn from). It would be awesome if a medic could learn through other ways in an acceptable time. When I was looking for a group to support them as medic, I was usually told, "I'm buffed and want a solo-group, thanks.". Fine. Healing at spaceports, healing the people passing by. Maybe it's me and my con but people tend to be a mile away before my stim pack kicks in. Then there's healing wounds of pets on fire but that would be considered cheating too, no?

I spend quite some time in Coronet Medic Center healing tumblers cause I wanted to Master Doctor before christmas 2005. As soon as I got healenhance and med use +90 I wanted to buff people for XP. I was only able to buff for 2000 so people ignored me left and right. Though finally I was able to master by buffing cause I was giving out those buffs for free (and no, I don't have millions of credits so this hurt).
While in the Med Center people coming in with wounds always had my priority, met some nice people and even got some tips but with only doing that it would take ages to get to Master. Don't get me wrong, it shouldn't take just a day, but it shouldn't take a year either.

Hopefully the Combat Balance will introduce more grouping, just my personal hope. Yesterday by the way I had quite some fun at the Geo Lab. By fighting, but primary by healing people, rez'ing them. If there would be more opportunities then we wouldn't need the tumblers. Once the combination of buffs and armor won't make you invincible anymore we won't need tumblers anymore. If dieing would inflict 90% wounds and wound healing via meditation would only be available to TK Masters (or not at all and instead for example a faster HAM regen while meditating) then we wouldn't need tumblers anymore...

The Biggest problem eith the game is AFK not only in Medic but Enrtertainment as well it just ruines it for the ppl that want to Play the class. But what can you do if you can't buff them all ( and that only helps Entertaines ). Well thats mty rant done, I still love the game .

Yes the tumbling thing is a problem but at the end of the day you can just ignore the goons and STILL beat them to master the profession... how? Well...

1. To the guy who said that he couldn't group cos he could only find solo group people who were buffed etc (solo grouping is another annoying exploit but we won't even go there). Well there is an easy solution to this (particularly with the advent of all noobs being centred around Mos Eisley) just go a find a group of noobs and group with them. Chances are they are much more enthusiastic, fresh faced and eager to meet new people, group with them and have fun doing so... and of course they have no armor and are useless in combat... AKA they get heaps of combat damage for you to heal. Just hang around with 5-6 of these guys and you will be on the road to master pretty fast (cranking out xp) and be making some new friends at the same time (is this not the point of an mmo?). You just have to make sure you stay in a noob friendly area and don't head out to the land of the jaded xp addicts who only solo group (Dathomir, Dantooine, etc).

2. By actually healing people in the med centre with well made wound packs you can make a fair bit of xp... and you will be earning AP teaching others as you go instead of standing outside the starport spamming people like a total goon.

Hence by these two ways you will be master medic before any AFK loser and you will be having fun and avoid the "begging for APs" situation that most solo group loners are stuck with. Power to the medics who actually play it and love it!!!! And hopefully the end of hologrinding will reduce the numbers of these AFK fools!

That is the best news I've heard all month. Awesome. (making it so you can't tumble unless you're in battle?)

I actualy devised a faster way to tumble. Whilst people hate the fact that there are tumblers what I do is heal the wounded while people heal me. I have both a Action and Health Main bar buff to get my stats as close to 3k as possible. I then get a mind buff because what I'm about to do with ravage a mind without it.

Once I'm all buffed I call my pet and park it to a corner of the med center. In my case it's a Bantha. I then run the following macro

/tumbletostand;

/tellpet trick2;

/tellpet trick2;

/tellpet trick2;

/tellpet trick2;

/tellpet trick2;

/tellpet trick2;

/marco tumble;

This macro will use up my action faster than a doc can heal me. In fact it takes up to 5 or 6 docs to really keep up. Now I know you all hate the tumblers because they don't heal you but I do my part as do others when they can. I also don't ask for tips ever. Some tip me some don't. All I'm really doing is working to get the Holoneers out and still attempt to help others when they need it. While you may hate what I've made I've mad a faster tumble that gets grinders out even faster when using their stim D's and Havla.

Oh also the only reason I have the tumble in there is to help stop the macro from ending on it's own by que'ing 7 commands which is the in game limit for pets.

Well I agree it must suck to need wounds healed and have everybody healing somebody who is afk. At least currently you can sit in a med center and have your wounds healed auto.

Actually it's the new HAM system that will render it useless, along with telling pets to do tricks as well
