My favorite was the medic in theed who had a commando knockin their graul mauler out with fire shaking the whole medctr then getting mad when other people healed it.

me and 3 or 4 other rebs were killing imps in bestine...i was sittin there buffing them when a CM diseased all of us....we all got up and they chased the CM while i got all their diseases off...only 1 person died then i got them revived right away

It really doesn't reflect on anyone's ability. It's just a game. What it does do is detract from the overall game experience for everyone. People healing tumblers most times instead of real patients in order to gain xp as fast as possible. So few people healing real people that need real wounds treated. It just goes against the grain of the in game role of a medic.

I would agree I cannot stand it myself. I had a guildie do it for me in our guildhall to master doc fast. Personally I cannot stand the tumblers in the med ctr so I picked up tka as well.

On the other hand when I used to heal people they never tipped and if they did it was rare and usually cheap. As others have said those packs do not make themselves so I just quit healing people unless they make me laugh or just really new (noobaas)

I'm on my way to Medic myself, and I've done it without using any tumblers. I think I've only healed 1 in my game-life, and that was before I realized he was tumbling. I feel like AFK tumblers detract from the game, and using them to level Medic is cheap. If nobody used them, there'd be no market for it.

I like the suggestion above. Group with a newbie party and take them hunting. It's fun, you'll get lots of XP, and they'll have a knowledgeable companion. If you try to play the game as a game, instead of as a treadmill, it tends to be more fun. If i'm out hanging with a group, having a good time, and I'm needed for a heal, I feel like I've contributed something. People thank you and tip you for that. Healing tumblers does nothing except boost your own xp, and doesn't contribute to the game at all.

This one's up to the medics, at least until the combat revamp (which will be after JTL, looks like). Take the high road, have fun, and make the game a better place.

The problem indeed lies not in tumbling, but the poor amount of XP you get from lack of patients with wounds. Nowadays TKA 4/0/0/0 is very common in combat templates, so very few run into the Med centre to get wounds healed. On Chimaerea I see maybe one wounded person 100/100/100 in HAM every .... 15 - 30 minutes? Great 800 XP per hour. Indeed if there were more dabblers in TKA wound healing wouldn't be a bad way to get money. But don't blame Medics. I don't see attending to a patient every 30 minutes and not doing anything between is fun.

Well actually the problem is deeper than that. It's the lack of need for medics on the battlefield healing pool damage. That's where most of your xp should come from. Being out there hunting with a couple of your friends, and keeping them alive while they are engaged in battle. A large group in a large scale battle of course will need a combat medic.

I would say this is caused by the prevalence of buffs. Seems like every group hunting has buffs, and therefore doesn't need a medic on hand.

correct MasterNerf. Which, in turn, the deeper problem is that there are very few non-solo groups out there. Especially ones a low-level medic can get into. Very deep problems......

I mastered medic and have gotten 0/2/1/2 in doctor this weekend by spending a lot of money on shuttle tickets. I would spend an hour or so healing people in medic centers, crafting while nobody was there, then going to the cantina, healing the dancers, then getting on a shuttle and flying to the next town/planet or whatever and repeating.

I had a lot of fun sitting in front of Mos Eisly Starport and hitting the noobs with wound heals. I especially enjoyed the ones who had been out to see the sarlacc and came back with over 90% wounds on health and action. I have mad my own wound packs and stims. Luckily, I mastered TK so I am not dependent on people for tips. I think all day yesterday I got maybe 10k in tips.

I agree that tumbling for tips should be removed from the game. I see it as an exploit and find it quite annoying. I don't know how many people I have /addignore'd because of their macro. The easiest fix for tumbling would require you to be in a different stance in order to execute it. If you're standing, you could tumble to kneeling or prone, but not standing, for example. I don't know if anyone uses tumbling for fighting anyway (since you can't do any specials or pretty much anything), so perhaps it should be removed entirely.

In order to get Medics and Doctors more involved in groups and hunting, I think we have to take a swing with the nerfbat and switch enhance buffs to percentage based. I saw an impressive post a few days ago, and a dev responded, but I don't have the link. Basically, only some of the pools should have the 3k hitpoints, based on the original stats. That way medics can still heal damage, but the buffed players will still get a lot out of the enhancement. And of course they can migrate their stats to get the most out of the buffs.

These two changes would help the most to bring medics and docs back into line with the original intention of their role in the game.

Great news indeed to get rid of tumbling for xp, too bad the patch is pushed back.
