Thread: Suicide Exploit?
Last night a friend and I travelled to Lok to tend to our harvesters. Along the way, we managed to get killed and ended up on the express train to the cloning station. While pausing outside to heal our wounds my friend offered to assist someoneanother wounded player who was sitting nearby. She (the wounded player) was being healed by a fellow guild-mate with a medic title.
So, my assumption was that woman simply wanted to provide as much experience to her guild-mate as possible. Ok. No problem.
However, once her health and action wounds were healed she ran off and reappeared less than a minute later from the cloning station in even worse shape. Obviously, she had committed suicide in order to provide her guild-mate with additional medical XP and they were continuing this cycle to help him level.
Curious, I asked the tending medic if he considered it an "exploit" and, after a defensive "if you think it's an exploit, report me to SOE" we had abrief discussion (I needed to get back to my harvester). His point was that he was working within the game mechanics and, since this proceedure could not be performed alone (you need someone willing to be the sacrificial lamb)it was perfectly acceptable.
So, I lay the facts before you for discussion.I'm not suggesting a nerf of any kind (frankly, I don't think one could be imposed anyway) but I'd like to see what the rest of the medical community thinks about this. I'm of the opinion that, since this game has no "high-end" content, there is no point to rushing through the leveling process. But that's just me. I'd really like to hear what you might think. Thanks.
Don't bring a medic to apet fight
Why would this be an exploit? Was a bug being used to gain unfair advantage? Nope.
It's one friend helping out another friend. Sounds like a really good thing to be doing. And see, Good Med Xp WITHOUT the need for pets! ![]()
An exploit? No, don't think so.
But, geeze, there are so many other ways, much easier, to get med xp then having a friend sacrifice themselves over and over again.
No exploit at all, just helping someone grind. Now to be honest, I dont think they were too smart about that.
Why not kill a few birds with the same stone. They could both take 2 missions easy in the same direction. Kill along the way. Medic healing, and getting probably more exp overall, and the other person getting combat exp.
Both get exp and money instead of the suicide method you describe. Seems kinda less productive then actually going out and hunting/healing.
No exploit at all in my opinion simply because there are better more beneficial ways over all to get med exp from someone if you are grouped/friends.
While not an exploit (IMHO), this technique is taking advantage of a temporary fix. It is the developer's intent to inflict harsher penalties for dying. At the moment, some of these penalties has been deactivated.
One of the inactive penalties include items remaining on corpse (instead of respawning with all your items).

I thought of that as well. However, you could deposit all of your belongings in the bank or drop them in your house and do the same thing, couldn't you?
Discussing this with an Everquest alumn, he pointed out that this wouldn't happen in that game since you lost XP each time you died.
Don't bring a medic to a pet fight
For those that say they dont understand why anyone would want to power level there character. I will give you two examples. 1. We play in groups and would like our Dr. Friend to get revive for our hunting parties. 2. I would personaly like to get to the point were I can make the advanced components becuase it seems like fun to me. I have my factory and now im healing everything in sight so I can get master and make d's.
After somone makes the specific ablilty that they are seeking they can take time and relax. I was in a big rush to get master rifle so I could use my T21 same thing with getting my curved sword cert and now I will causually get the XP and enjoy the new abilities as they come.
Hope that makes sense Im not a good writer
Because anyone that wanted to be efficient would just fricking /duel.
And if you want to raise medical XP, faster would be to get some stims made, then have them play music. (Just get novice entertainer, who cares.) My girlfriend plays her music and pushes a macro that pops off all 8 flourishes in 4 seconds. Then she just keeps pushing it, while I heal as fast as I can. It's a whole lot of XP.
We're explorers/creature handlers, so we rarely have damage to heal (since we can't xp for the pet), and as for wanting to master everything quickly? I'd like to have it out of the way. When I played EQ, the most entertaining time for me was *not* at level 35, struggling to make the next level with people making a similar struggle. It was at 65, with all the useful AA abilities I could get, and battling the gods and anything else that looked funny at us. That was good times. SWG was something new, and my stint on EQ rounded to a close as my woman prefers SWG, and I'm not anxious to start over on EQ to hang with her.
thats not that big of an exploit.
as a combat medic, i have disease packs that cause wounds to the HAM bars
If I felt like "exploiting" this, i could just have one of my guild mates stand there and let me disease the heck out of them, then heal them back up......
I had some random guy in a med center ask me that the other day.
I went in to get a few wounds healed. As I was standing there, some other medic asked me to disease his friend so he could heal the wounds. I just told him i didnt have any disease on me and left.
