Thread: Petition to restore Medic XP to pets
We are medics, we heal everything and should get xp for it. Maybe not our own pet but other people's pets definitely. From this day forward I will be charging to heal pets since the time I am taking to heal someone's pet and getting nothing from it I could be healing a person and getting XP I need. Even if I didn't need the XP it still costs materials to make the stims. My guess is non CH and CHs would prefer the old way so not to rely on pet stims all the time which can be fairly pricey and the current ones are good enough to take generally take care of a sludge panther once from incap and I've seen people CH and Non CH come into the Med Center with a previously incapped pet that has 3000 wounds and SOE expects us medics to be ok healing it without getting xp? I don't think so.
I'm perfectly fine with charging but the old way was much better.

Medical XP is so fecking easy to get. Who cares now if we cannot heal pets. Get a group of friends together, go hunting, and have THEM tank, and heal them, and if they can't stay alive during the fight without pets, then you all are obviously fighting something way over your heads, so gear down a notch or two.
Christ, so many of us got to our levels WITHOUT healing pets, to hear the outcry about this is mind boggling.
Look at this as a business opportunity too.. Charge to heal pets if you feel so inclined to do so.

This really adversely affects the casual players and folks who play at weird hours or for short times (like me).
Make it so I only get a percentage of the xp from healing a pet if the problem is the ease of getting xp .. but don't remove it completely.

I hunt in a large guild group all the time and we havea lot of pets. This change is gonnahurt. I'm not going to charge my guild mates to for healing their pets, that's just ridiculous. Anyone else though, better cough it up.
Wha? Was this today's patch or something?
If I'm going to use my mind pool and spend my stimpacks, I should get XP for it. I don't understand why we don't get XP for healing ourselves! Scouts get wilderness XP for sitting in their own camp.
I'd settle for them halving the XP or something, but pets take a lot of healing, I don't want to drop a bunch of charges out of a Stim-D trying to heal a teammates 10,000 HAM pet and not get any XP for it.
Incidentally, I'm also pissed that we don't get a share of the faction XP for all this healing.

I agree with prima, Ive started making good credits since this change. Read my other post to find out how.

I fail to see how charging for our services and making some decent money is a bad thing? If a CH wants his pet healed, it'll cost him. I am usually nice enough to heal people for free, but one use of a stim fixes them. A big pet can take a whole stim. Why should I do that for just the xp anyway?

Medics should get experience and tips for healing.
I'm a Ranger/CH/Medic. I get experience for harvesting and make money from either selling what I harvest or for trading for stims. I maybe can understand not getting experience from healing your own pet, but Medics should get experience for healing someone elses.
I enjoy having medics and doctors along on hunting explorations with me to heal my pet. I give them what I havest. They get exp for healing me and my pet. I get scouting and CH experience. The medic can even use the crafting station thats in my camp for stim crafting. Makes a perfect little group.
Courtesy calls for tips as well.
Tip your medic and entertainer folks.

But only because we weren't consulted before being nerfed.

Medics skilled just fine BEFORE pets were introduced into the game and there was NO XP from pets. Now, because EVERYONE has become so stinking reliant on pets, you all can't conceive of doing anything without pets.
Honestly, how much fun are those HUMAN players having watching the pets tank during the encounters, auto-firing the weapons from a safe distance? Sounds really challenging. But, instead of fighting a challenging fight WITHOUT pets, you can't even think of that. Sounds to me like it IS all about THEIR experience points andNOT yours if they won't ramp down and take damage for you.

Try thinking outside the box.
I see what you are saying, but this change makes no sense on its own. Why get rid of exp for medics healing pets? I never liked healing pets (I agree, we aren't vets) butI of course healed them anyway if I was in a group with some CHsand at least I got some exp for it. Normally, I don't fight in groups with CHs, I fight with a bunch of brawlers, three brawlers trading aggro can tank quite well on a lot of things, but I still disagree with this change. If the devs don't want pets to tank, then change pets, change armor, change whatever, butdon't make a change to medics to try to get them to encourage players to tank, that is the most roundabout way you could make that change if that is their intention.
This isn't about people thinking outside the box. What if a CH brings their pet to the med center for wound healing. Why should I not get exp for healing the pet? Why allow us to heal pets at all, maybe they are planning to make some kind of vet class or add it to CH/BE? It just seems like this must be the first of many changes to pet healing/pet tanking unfortunately with no word of explanation.
