Thread: New medic
I have been playing a Marksman for a while and I now decided that I want to make a pure medic (someone who is only a really good medic and nothing else). I want to make one but I have a few questions first.
1. How exactly do pure medics make money? Do they completely rely on other players tips or do they HAVE to have another combat skill to do missions with?
2. How often do people bother giving tips and is the life of a pure medic really boring?
Thanks!

OK, wth do you know about being a medic in r/l? Obviously nothing, or you would realize how difficult and dangerous, at times, a job it can be. I don't like to flame or really get into r/l issues here, it's about a game, but I have to correct stupidity.
i think nutkruncher was being sarcastic...
as far as being a medic goes...i am doing the same thing...giving up rifle and pistol skills to do it!
you will receive some tips and you can also sell medical supplies...there are plenty of people who prefer to buy rather than make...
Im a CH/Pistoleer/medic considering being a doctor...meaning i will be master medic and get the +'s to HAM's in doctor
Well, considering this i wonder why people dont just take pistol/carbine/rifle to get $$$$? You spend 140 to master medic/Doctor, and you need combat XP for combat medic..heck, you can be all 3 +18 pts. to spec. pistol/carbine/rifle...Just get a good scout blaster and do missions for $$$

No you wount make anything in tips your on your own, you'll have to do combat missions, combat medic would be much better then you can actualy do things, hunt with groups etc.
Let me tell you up front that as a medic, you're not going to make a ton of money right away. As a doctor, on a good night (couple of hours sitting in med ctr healing), I make between 1000 - 2500 credits. On a bad night (especially when no one comes into the med ctr), I may make about 500 - 750 credits in that same time period. I, too, started out as a marksman, but I was going for combat medic, before I did some thinking and went Doctor instead. Because I can wield a scout blaster, I often do some destroy missions to supplement my income, although I often go in the company of at least one combat-type to protect myself.
I have not gone the way of selling medical supplies on a regular basis (although at times I will sell stim's or wound packs on occasion upon request), although others in my group of medics/doctors do.
Tipping is pretty much 50/50. Half of the folks you heal will tip you, half of them will not. A few of the folks who do tip you will give you like 25-50 credits. On the other hand, a few of the folks you heal will plop down 1000 credits, too. It all depends. We have a good group of medics/doctors in the med ctr where I hang out, so time passes quickly, even if there aren't a lot of patients. Boredom rarely enters into the picture.

Ok, look up there ^ and see the true idiot. He would be the one who cannot understand that "your" is not the same thing as "you are" or "you're" and who knows the correct spelling of a five-letter word like IDIOT. I rest my case, Orions. /bonk
