Taiv -- I think going for some scout skills is a great idea. I'm doing marksman / artisan / medic now... so I'm afraid to open up to a new class. However... being able to make camps AND harvest resources from slain mobs for your stims is always a good thing

Hi,

I've already seen some marksman with basic healing skills. Unfortunately, I've also seen a lot of medics change professions. I feel that we are becoming less in numbers. I don't know if that is good, or bad. Lately there have not been all that many medics in the med centers, just 2-3. I was the only on in the Cantina last night for 3 hours.

BTW, how big are the parties that you go into combat with?

You're right about losing medics methinks. The healing requirements are so daunting at first... but they get easier as you improve your OC IV imho.

The hunting parties I go out with are all different sizes. Sometimes I go out with a creature handler or marksman as a duo... and sometimes I will go out with 4-5 other people. The largest group I've been in was 8 others (i remember having to stretch to hit CTRL+9 / F11) hehe. Going out with 1 or 2 other people is fun because it's relaxing, you get to chat with people, and you can get in on the action yourself if you so desire. When I was in that big group, I spent all my time running back and forth healing people, keeping people alive and dragging out incapacitated folks was an exciting challenge... but very nerve-wracking lol.

Oh I just thought about something with you saying you were the only one in the cantina. When it's slow, I'll make a bunch of stim A's and go in there and heal the dancers / musicians. I also notice that I'm usually the only medic in there as well.

So what i'm wondering, is what are these entertainers doing when we're not in the cantina? I assume they just have to sit down and rest between dances, thus greatly slowing down their experience. I was thinking this would be so boring... but that's just my own personal opinion. What else does the entertainer class offer than just being in the cantina? Some of the funnest things I have done were exploring some other worlds. Naboo is gorgeous. What they did with that planet is truly amazing... i feel like some of the entertainers are missing out on that. 8(

That's why SWG is a skill game not a class game.

You can be an entertainer AND something else.

(or for that matter a medic And something else).

A lot of people are sticking to 1 profession and getting bored of doing 1 thing over and over. There is lots of variety of things to do around.

Speaking on Medics being needed out in the field...

I have been doing alot of travelling, and one place I went to is Endor. I tried to explore it a little bit, but the mobs there are VERY difficult, and died more than a few times. There are no cities on endor, just two outposts which offer nothing more than a star port, and a few mission terminals. There must be some really difficult things to kill, and missions to complete on these moons. This is only speculation of course, but I am really looking forward to seeing what's out there.

Oh btw-- I found an ewok. They look really cool... but when I was checking him out some big tough varmint hit me twice for 600. Requesting clone activation....

the /tumbletostand macro is the be all, end all of power leveling a medic. Thank you Timzai. A full house in the cantina with yourself as the only medic does wonders also.

Shh... The next thing they're going to do is to make it so you cannot tumble while tumbling

/waves to Slothy and Texxie

I might make a doc/rifle again a bit later

It's a common misconception for fighters that healers NEED combat types to gain xp, this is not true, as there's always entertainers and the tumbling moves. As soon as combat types gives as much appreciation as the entertainers do (hey, they don't tip but at least they're truely happy with what you do to them and they don't push you around like "heal my action bar now you lifeless doc"), then perhaps there'll be more medics willing to go deal with these people.

I have Medic....its kinda hard to use it ourselfs as a secondary skill. It is almost pointless to use in battle. We use mind to heal heath. Well look now.....instead of 1 shot to health that will kill me its just mind.

So why dont you learn about the HACK/SLASH class before you spout off your mouth?

Now Novice Combat Medic.
I will be glad to heal all you Commando's
who die by the hand of a blue mob.
