Though I would like to see a variation of #7 to include default healing of yourself if you have a lair or monster targetted.
I'm only going to pick a few, and put them in no particular order:
6.Medicine Use Skill Granularity
8.Crate combining
10.Universal Stim As
17.Medic Content
23.Med Center Crafting Station
25.Mounted Healing
26.Flaming/Diseasing Pets for XP
I think it's silly that an Advanced Stim B, usable with only Novice Medic, is one of the best heals in the game, capable of offering just about anyone a 50% or better heal. i think that Stim As need universal certs, and that the certs for Advanced Stim Bs need to be pushed up the ladder a bit. Maybe keep a regular Stim B at Novice. Just make it so that it's more attractive to climb up the skilltree rather than just snipe the best ability, which is at Novice.
Something i didn't put on my list - Faction Points for healing Overts -is a great idea, but it's so open to exploitation that I just don't think it's possible for now. Only when it's no longer possible to get healing XP from Tumbling characters and the like should this be seriously considered, or else there will be more FP than anyone will know what to do with.
Other than that, what I listed above sound like some great, sensible changes to the profession.
Just a few comments on some of these for those few who might come back to read this thread. ![]()
JoeBobJedi:While I agree about the possibility of exploitation with mounted healing of others, the primary consideration on that issue is for the ability to heal oneself while mounted.
Nolan007: As I mentioned if you don't bother with the numbers I won't bother counting the vote, but I also wanted to add that AoE Disease cures is not only NOT on the Medic Issues list, it isn't even close to ever being on the Medic Issues list because Medics don't heal disease at all. That's a Doc skill so I suggest checking things out there and voting on the Doc list for that. (I think Traigus prefers the numhbers as well since it makes it a LOT easier to compile the spreadsheets we use to track these.)
electricnomad: The FPs thing, I tend to agree with you ont he exploitability as well, but we should see a large alleviation of that particular exploit after the combat revamp. Beyond that, though, I think the FPs shouldn't come from simply healing, but from healing in combat, exactly the same way we get Combat XP for healing in combat now. So it would be related to the FP gain someone else gets when they take down their target. Far less exploitable.

10 -- Universal Stim-A's make them Make them Medical Use 1, and put a starter quest in the game that grants Medical Use 1. When the last person standing in a group doesn't have any medical skills there's no way he can get other incapped people back on thier feet. RP version of slapping the doctors face to bring him around.
13 Money. Medics need crafting / Healing missions to make some money. Sitting in a medical center relying on peoples good will to /tip you some credits. doesn't balance out the huge cost of all the metal / ore / lokian wheat and shuttle fares to get it.
14 Droid Battery usage... Just way to short for the cost of the batteries. Another money sink that medics have to offset with a second skill / combat / crafting.
