I think it'd be really f***ed up if all medics/doctors stopped healing until they were paid.
And weaponsmiths should give their weapons away. And houses should be free too.
If it costs resources, it costs money to the provider.

lol as a matter of fact, I think they should do that, too. 
I've never considered medicine and medical treatment a business. I consider it as something that is needed and should be given. In real life and in the game. In real life, the medical profession is all about money. If you're not covered...too bad, you owe us $150,000. In a game, it seems even more rediculous (to me) that people should be charged for requiring help. I suppose it's the soft-hearted part of me. I'll still give medical attention to anyone who needs it for free and have no qualms about it. Sure, I may be low on money at times, but hell, I'd like to be able to go into a med center and not have to pay a **edit** cover charge or something before someone will actually heal me.
I just see things different. Weaponsmiths, Armorsmiths, etc. offer a product...medics are a service. You wanna make money? Sell your stims. Stim C's sell quite well.

Okay, so you call healing a service. The US has largely evolved into a service based industry. Are you saying that you don't tip your waiters, your pizza delivery boys, your various other professions who aren't selling a "product" but just providing a service?

Very well done. It's funny when Dr. Seus is given a makeover. 
Since I'm not a master doctor I still heal for free. But once I get done with the whole XP thing, you can bet yer sweet arse I won't heal an all black without some serious moola changing hands.
