I'm with send it. It gives them an idea how the class is evolving. As we learn the in's and out's of the class we discover that y issue really is more important than x was. Or that we have a temp work around to x and we would want to see y addressed first. Besides, as you noted 1,2,3 are the same and I'm willing to bet they can only get to any one of those attime.

I say send the list with the new 4&5 since they fixed two things already. We aren't sending 5 new things, just keeping 5 things in the queue for medic, I think that is reasonable.

dont take anything off the list until it is live and working..liek the droid fix...


we dont know if they are really fixed or not until they go live...just because they are on TC doesnt mean hey will go live...

My meeting at work ran late, I just got in.

Looks like I'm sending it.

As a note. As Q mentioned offhand in a post about a radioshow he was on. He did send out a response to the Commando Correspondant (by e-mail) last night.


There is a major war going on in the commando board if you wanna check it out. So they ahve started responding. I'm in the proces of cruising the boards to see if anyone else got a response yet. As of 3 mins ago, I haven't.

The new list will be up today. I have to make soemthing to eat etc.
Numbers 4 and 5 will be changing.

Just got an e-mail asking us not to send until we get answered on first list. So have several other Correspondants. many of us picked friday, so they must have been getting a ton of new lists today lol.

Well I'd say that the commandos did not get the love they should have (I'm biased since I'm going that route). And depending on how you read the dev post they either classified a commando weapon as "secondary" or the whole frickin class as "secondary". There are some major issues with the weapons and skill tree in that profession, and the dev response (as mentioned here) is vague at best.


Saying "Go check it out on the test server" may work for some groups. You may be able to get to master medic on TC in the time you have as a correspondent, but there's no way you're gonna get the pre-reqs for some hybrids like bounty hunter or...commando.


I take some exception to you saying that commandos are over-reacting. Consider that the weapon in question (the flamethrower) has a 13+ second delay after a special shot. With a laser rifle I can hit you with a mindshot and two headshot2's in that period for an average damage of 2k+ with a bleed. That's at spec rifle. A rifleman with a T21 would be much much worse. So unless the flamethrower will do that kind of damage or better it's just not competitive with other weapons.


Anyhow I'm ranting. I just think that they did the commando wrong. Hopefully the other proffessions will receive more love.

i wouldnt say that commandoare over reacting.


the thing is everyone else is sooooo out of wack it makes the commandos look silly...


its like CM dots...they look fine on paper...u get out into the battle and compare it to other damage..its a joke...same with commando...on paper u drool...u game u cry...


i know the feeling..consider than BH flame shot does prtty much the same thing as commando flamethrowers at pistol speed and range....commando are definately broken...its the only class i would admit to being more broken than CM...

Dunno why I'm posting commando stuff here but...

Well the numbers you just used are from live, therefore not applicable to any TC changes.

I do agree (and did earlier) that "go check it out on test.." is not even close to acceptable. Probably the only proffession that could get master by the tiem te patch comes out... is probably medic.. we get xp much faster than anyone else.


By secondary weapons, they mean for special targets.. In WWII people didn't shoot bazookas at every person on the other side. This is especially true of Commando weapons with charges. they aren't supposed to be used on every mob. With a requirement of master marksman, you do indeed have the ability to use 3 other types of guns on a regular basis, and whip out the "big guns" when you have to deal AE or for "big mobs".

50%+ of your weapons (grenades, and acid and flame Specials) are Area Effect. They also tend to affect resistances that are weak (acid, flame, cold)

You are also being affected by about 15 weaponcrafting bugs (that are affecting everyone else btw... one of my current chars is a weaponsmith too) which are actually separate issues (0 best range, experimentation bugs, factory bugs etc.)

Yeah Commando is broken (not nearly as broken as it was when I was playing it). While the dev response was badly written... it wasn't a statement that commandos are supposed to be crappy (which is what the commando board seems to be saying).

If the weaponsmith bugs get fixed, there will be a significant boost to your weapons. If the TC special move fixes are good (which nobody can check)... you'll go from novice marksman damage to very powerful.

An while all of you may apparently want to use bazookas all the time... common everyday guns for the commando have always been in the master marksman level.

This is why I think you are overreacting over there.

As the dev responses come out, there will be a lot of reactions like this.

Here are the 2 I see that medics will overreact to:

They the answer to the medic money issue will probably be "charge money." It is what we have been told forever. People will freak (again) when the same answer comes back.

Mind healing will also most likely get harpooned (more giant rants will result).

That's cool.


The numbers I stated are from live. I didn't state what the weapon is doing in live (except for the delay, which the dev post stated was necessary for balance). I stated what other weapons are doing in live and what the weapon "should" do to be competitive.


I said that depending how you read it, either the weapon is secondary or the profession is. Personally I think they mean the weapon, not the profession. But then 50% of the whole skill tree is based on "secondary" weapons which is different from most other professions.


AOE weapons are great. If AOE was working. Currently it doesn't seem to be. Probaby the same issue affecting CMs. I'll be really happy if I can dish out medium damage to many targets instead of massive damage to one, but I can't now. This should've been a fix I think since so much of our stuff is based on these weapons.


Personally I don't want to bazooka everything. I want to throw grenades at it and blow it into tiny smoking pieces . I want to toss a thermal detonator at a group of gnorts and watch the fur fly.


And you make my point for me. If such and such were fixed, if such and such worked, when they fix this everything will be ok. Well it's not addressed in the new patch, or in the dev response so that means it's not fixed yet. So even after the dev response the proffession will still be gimped. That's why it's not an overreactoin.
