Thread: How I made 2000c in an hour as a medic
Dont you guys group with them and share the mission reward? 200c is bad. If I had a dedicated Doctor in my group he would make 40k an hour just by being grouped with us.
I strongly disagree with this idea for 2 simple reasons:
1- if I was a surveyor I would make much, MUCH more than 2k credits in an hour, with no expense at all (yes you made 2k but stimD cost , mate...)
2- what would prevent me from charging for healing pets even when I got xp for that ? If the guy would disagree, like he in the beginning did in this case too, you could bet he would change his mind quickly.
I may be blind but I see this change as nothing else than a simple and (let me say) quite injustified nerf.
The change was nessecary because a CH would refuse to pay and find a medic willing to just take the xp. Now they have no such choice. I find it to be a much better solution. The whole pet issue in general was getting way out of hand.
As for CH's pet allowing it to tank harder mobs and more difficult missions...that was a bit unbalanced, where was the maintenance fee for the pet? Its a rifle that never gets old, a piece of armor that never rusted up. Now they do have a fee, pay us or BE's for stims. I agree that it was a nerf more for CH's than medics, but I still think it was needed in both cases.

as a novice medic i usually made 5k with a group/hour and my job and only job was to heal pets which was fine cause i'd get xp for that, now i'd definitely charge 2 or 3 times that (well depends on how good your stims are and wut not as well, i mean if you're making stim a's then don't even bother charging)... why? because i use adv components and they're expensive to buy/run harvestors to get not to mention the travel fair (talus dantooine lok tatooine.. first three don't connect to each oterh gotta go to a mid point planet like corellia or naboo to get to the other...VERY expensive and annoying lots of time used) Also now without the xp we're getting that means a stunt in profession growth and for people with not a lot of time this means their time is valuable----> Raise the Prices! cause every other profession can run normal destroy missions get Xp for their profession growth AND make money. I'm a higher level doctor now and before charged 50k /hour if they had pets 30k no pets now i'm charging 70k for pets same rate for no pets.. and i'm still getting hired quite a bit on lok
well i mean if u think about it an hour they can make close to 100k if its a big group so when dished out between 15 people its like 5k per person --- pocket change to pay me. really u guys should charge more for your services.. 2k an hour? u could run a few 500 credit missions in 5 minutes and make that and u can harvest the animals for resources plus make your money.. just a thought

Quote from GC_Crew:
As a Medic myself, I don't care that we no longer get XP from healing pets. Pet healing has always felt like it should be a Bio Engineer talent, IMHO. If I wanted to heal pets, I would have become a Vetrinarian, not a Doctor.

That's easy for you to say being a doctor, but think about the novice medics that have to waste all their time in catina's or medcenters. While we were all able to heal pets, many pets seemed like endless XP, to power up the skill tree, these poor newbs will spendthee months getting there healing wounds.
Almost every player in the game has good enough medic skills to heal their own damage. There's not much XP in that for us anymore. Wounds and Pets were all we had. Now it's just wounds. Poor, poor newbs.
This is directed towards everyone with this veiw, not just GC_Crew.

Take a second and think about others."SWG: Selfish Whiner Galaxies"
again I would like to state the devs seem to have plenty of time to put in working nerfs- how about working factories ? Medical Surgical Droids ? etc... - I dont like any nerf - why didnt they leave the creature experience in the game and raise the XP needed to level and leave it an OPTION as a method of gaining exp - I like seeing - you have earned XXX medical experience - why did they take that away ?
To make Pet stims sell ? but the whole mind issue comes into play there - what is a pet stims mind cost ? similar to a stim B ? anyway PUT HEALING PET EXPERIENCE BACK IN - I agree with Bull : if its alive and its not me and I heal it - I want exp - doctors get the shaft everywhere else - I dont see a need to nerf us since the majority of people that MAKE it to master doctor are there because they enjoy their profession - noone in their right mind would hack through all the crafting - endure RARELY being tipped but have service expected of you at every turn, going all over the frikkin galaxy to get materials to make hot stuff and then have people whine about 2k for a 42 charge 380 heal stim b costing 2k ..... if they didnt love being a doctor ... but god we ought to get something for it - we arent getting money (most of the time ) we arent getting even a THANX in alot of experience I have - at least we can get the satisfaction of YOU HAVE EARNED XXX exp ... Do any developers actually play the game ? Well Im an average jo doctor and it pisses me off that so much related to us is broken - namely factories and droid 9 surgical ) yet they added a nerf -
I buy a porche and it doesnt go 320 k/h and I take it and they promise me that it will but they have to figure out whats causing that - in the mean time they take away the cars excellent handling and nerf the great smooth ride ? Im gonna be happy ? this is whats happening here - its insane NERF BEFORE BUG FIX ? thats just maddening to think about
UNERF US NOW PLEASE ?
I watch this kind of all out assault on exp gathering take place in Asherons Call 2 - they did it over a period of 2 months - they had 12 servers will pretty decent populations on all (save the pure pvp server) after the second major patch there are now 3 servers and those are wastelands... granted some of that had to with SWG - but I for one, never would have started this game if they hadnt been so NERF happy - it was my anger at those developers for the all out assault on the fun of the gamethat drove me to the store for SWG - again I say please put the pet healing exp back in the game - and raise the REQUIREMENTS for the levels - its just more fun that way - to be working towards something however elusive that goal may be - the feeling your moving towards it is the key - not BUZZZZZZZ youget ZIPPO nadda for all your work making that stim to heal that creature ! that just sucks - it simply sucks !
Actually if you sit in the med center for a couple days, 15-30 hours total, in a busy city you can make Master Medic without too much trouble. You don't make a lot of credits for sure, but its how I got there. I play pretty casually, maybe 2-3 hours a night, and it only took me around 12 days. And that's including several half hour stretches when no one came in.
If you hop over to the cantina it'll be even faster. The trick is to pick a big city, Theed, Coronet, Mos Espa, etc, etc. You can't do it by sitting in some backwater.
The upside is there is almost always someone around to train you, and people to train.

GG Crew, checking in again.
There were two posts that noticed I had progessed to Novice Doctor, and both posts made the assumption that I gained Medical XP by healing pets. Actually, I didn't heal any pets until well after trainingthe Doctor profession; all of my Medic XP came from healing other players. That's the reason I state that the new "nerf" doesn'tbother me - I didn't gain any worthwhile XP from pets, and it wasn't ever part of my advancement strategy.
I spent much of my time hanging out in Cantinas and Med Centers while running delivery missions. A 6-minute shuttle wait meant plenty of time to heal some dancers/fighters and craft a few new medicines. The profit from playing FedEx allowed me to purchase all the needed items from the bazaar. I'd hop on some impromptu missions if invited, but those were few & far between.
I actually started a new character on the Tempest server today, and he will also be a medic. Now I'm behind many other Medic players!
I'm a casual player, and I'll report when I reclaim my Novice Doctor title.
I honestly hope to see some of you online.

GC_Crew -
Fair enough - My point is really that as a paying customer of Sony's for years (in EQ) - I've seen this happen before.
My problem isn't that there is no other way to get Medic xp, although in many situations, pets are the main tanks and will need to be healed, period. I don't really care if it's BE's (although I dont' see a lot of em around honestly).
The real point is, I just don't like em getting out their nerf-bats when they could be fixing other far more significant issues (e.g. I've lost like 20k in bank transfers that have broken in the last week, etc.)
From the petition in the medic forum, I'd say the most telling thing is, if you're doing your job you should get xp for it. Period.
Oh and by the way, I always tip well, always always always, for heals to myself or pets, even when someone heals me without my asking ![]()
I feel for you medics/entertainers, I don't know what the solution is to not getting tipped for healing, that's just totally bogus. I tip every entertainer in sight when I go into a cantina, whether I'm watching/listening to em or not.
As a squad leader I tip all the main medics in a group 1000cr after a hunt, I usually lead groups of 20 to kill big stuff and encourage everyone to tip the medics on there performance, so they get at least a lil money in return...
I wouldnt see a problem with paying to heal Pet Tanks .
to oofbig and the other moron who said he wouldn't pay.. it's fine.. really.. just don't expect us to heal the pets.. and please.. oh please watch them die.. lose vitality and NEVER return to normal ham..
it's fine by me really.
I'm a master doc.. and a master CM.. i didn't make it there by healing pets.. BUT.. i don't condone the removal of med xp for healing them.. yes you should get xp for healing anything other than yourself..
what WOULD have gone over better with me IMHO is the general lifting of the med xp bars MUCH higher than they are now..
last night i had oh.. 165k xp to get master doc.. OMG.. 165k.. i made that in like.. oh crap.. 45 mins.
Master Medic/Doc/CM also should have had some med xp tagged along with em.. ok.. i'm tier 4 everything now.. need to get 640xp to learn master doc.. oh wait.. silly me.. i could teach a friend skills he'll never need over and over and over.. hmm.. just 34 tier 1 skills to teach.. oh that's easy..
WHO THE HECK BECOMES A MASTERMEDIC/DOC/CM BY TEACHING 10,000 NEWBIES SURVEY I?
