What do people perceive as the problem with experimentation?

Personally, I think that stims should 'max out' at a certain heal/charge rate.

Right now most professions pick up novice medic and buy super advanced stim b's, and without having to spend any more sp, get very nice heals. I think that the amount of experimentation points that should be allowed to use on a stim should cap at the equivalent to where you get the schematic for the stim. ADV components could still be used, but the overall effect is that in order to be able to heal themselves for 400 or so like most people do, they have to spend the SP to get that type of healing.

Not only would this increase the need for medics, it stops a lot of the soloing problems going on.

Just to clearify......(I'm not in game right now so please forgive the vagueness)

Medics receive the ability to make stim b's at adv organic chemistry. So, I think that the med useage required to use stim B's should be equvalent to that at Pharmacology two. In addition, I think that the Max amount of skill points able to put into the stim B should be equivallent to that which you get at org chem 2 and below.

Now, these stim's would be experimentable on med use as always, but due to the limited number of sp that medics would then be able to put into the stim b, you'd substitute base heal/charges for lower med use.

Like I said adv schematics would work as is, and be able to add to the stim, but experimentation and med useage would change as suggested.

Thoughts?

Gunman,

A Master Doctor SHOULD be able to make a Better B-Stim then a Novice or Master Medic. Master Weaponsmiths make the best weapons so Master Doctors should make the best meds.

To limit the Experimentation Points on Stims to the level at which they appear in the OC Line would be akin to schematic revocation. And it is something that, if applied to our professions, MUST be applied across the board to ALL crafters.

As for raising the med use on B-Stims, I agree. It's a holdover from beta that needs to be rectified.

Well, as a master doc, I think the bonus we get should be the better stims IE: Stim E, which would not only have a natural base higher than previous stim's natural bases, but also be allowed to have more experimentation on (equal to that of the experimentation you receive at that level and below).

I agree, that the idea should be spread to the other professions, and it has been suggested in the past. Not only would this help out novices in the crafting professions by giving them a market in which a master cannot move in on, but it keeps the uber weapons from poping up, and makes weapons that have higher certs worthwhile. (IE scout blasters being better than most other pistols, yet the cert is fairly low level, and a intermediate weaponsmith can manufacture)

stim B needs higher meduse. BHs need to stop whining. Mind heal is farcical. Nothing wrong with a 400+ stim B. There is something wrong with everyone having 400+ heals.

Not a big deal, between my old list (edited for fixes), Zarlor's list (edited for Doc Issues), and The CM list (edited for CM issues) and some stray BE issues.. plus a few index card of wishlest stuff peopel ahve sent me... I can have a list.

It is actually a good sign really. We are operating on non-critical bugs and wishlist stuff ATM... that's a good deal.

A lot of professiosn are in the same boat... that is really good for the game.

Some professions are still borked pretty good though ...

With the release of mounts and cities, the ability to push for mor content soon wil lbe good.. maybe we'll get a crack at medic missions... (not that I personally am interested, but people really seem to want them).

I'll have the list up tonight (If I'm not too tired after my night class), or Tues afternoon (after dayschool). It is mostly typed now... and I'm even checking it for typos . I still have to read through the CM board to weight the top 5... SO I shoudl ahve that done tomorrow as well.

Starting after that, I'll set up a vote system like Zarlor's... since it works so well... and try to convince the Docs and CMs to come down here and vote, at least 1 time a month.

You think so?

Hasta la vista, Traigus.

(Just kidding!)

I'll be ahappy to sticky a post on teh Doc forum to inform them of a vote goin on here. FOlks there seem to be pretty used to voting now. I find that the process really helps me because some issues aren't always hot topic on teh board either because they have already been discussed to death or jsut because there's a pretty big slient majority that has certain priorities that they aren't really posting to the boards with. So I think it might be getting a better picture.

I also try to remind some of the Docs on the servers to check out just the stickied stuff once a week to see if a vote is going on, if nothing else. So hopefully we at least get a voter or two who are not, otherwise, regular visitors to the forums. Plus I can always point the complainers to count the tally for themselves if they don't like the order instead of having to deal with them bitching at me that I have poor judgement and can't figure out where the priorities should lie.

Compared to the great thrashings Texia and I had in beta... it is very calm now... overall we are doing well. I didn't do voting, because this place was a hotbed of ranting and discussion... now it is mostly a sales board, and a job placemnt place for peopel with extra points to put into medic... ah well... I won't go as far as to wish things to be broken again.

I'm just waiting for the new content stuff to start (probably the day after I'm replaced) lol.

Lucky for me I qualify for no less than 17 Correspondent positions and plan on starting up a few more characters this week!
