yes youre right it would be a shame if medics could keep people alive. Give it to entertainers because entertainers definantly save lives.

i think probably the best simplest way to handle mind damage from combat (particullarly the rifle)


is to have a mind component added to stems



also entertainers could have a special mind stem song or dance


the specific problem coems up when a combatant is incompasitated via the mind bar which there is no counter so unlike a pistol or carbine victim there is no way to wake them up until the entire mind timer has elapsed and they wake up on their own


medics cant help them and entertainers cant help them

If you are not shooting and your weapon is off you are not in combat so you could heal mind wounds

You should only be able to heal if you don't fight, so you can't heal yourself if you're actually in combat.

So if im not in combat how can i heal mind damage....i thought the purpose of the post was the heal mind in combat? so if im now out cuz im not shooting, how can i be considered in combat?

im really confused now on when u can heal mind damage and when u cant with ur proposal...

Because you should need to be 100% on the healing task

Ok let me try to explain (dificult for me...) :
- When people near you are fighting and you are not, you should be able to heal them.
- For yourself you could only heal if youre not fighting.

lol how are u gonna get around auto attack issue?


if u are grped and ur grp is in combat, mobs will shoot or attack u and send u into autoattack mode

Trade revive from doctor to combat medic


Give doctors mind heal stimpacks to compinsate



Think about it a little, it makes sense

if you add mind healing to medic/doc/cm they can infinately heal, I think something has to be done about healing mind pool, but it shouldnt be a medic skill. The squad leader idea has some merit.

Just thinking out loud here...


What about just making Mind Pool the "Mana bar" it is supposed to be, with no death or incapacitation effects when it reaches zero? Hate to get too much like everquest, but on the surface, this seems to solve a lot of the problems. People would still target mind pool to medics, so there would still be utility to mind damaging attacks (though perhaps damage to other pools would need to be rebalanced for weapons that depend on Mind Damage).



Additionally, you could add some utility to the entertainer class by having regen effects on Mind Pool through dancing and charm or mesmerize like effects using the special effects lines?


Is this a more workable idea, or have I opened my mouth too hastily?

The only problem with making it so zero mind does not incapacitate is that you pretty much nerf the hell outta any profession that is designed to specifically target mind pools.

I think the best amount of Medic mind healing would be just enough to get an incapped player back on their feet.


At the moment, I don't care about needing special items/medicines/droids to make it happen - the only requisite is that the target player's mind is currently 0. The mind heal would add a tiny amount to the target's mind bar and get them "revived". This could be the Star Wars equivalent to Smelling Salts.


For those who need numbers, "tiny" in the above paragraph could be 1/20 of the player's total mind, or 5 points, whichever is more.


At the moment, I do not know of any method to revive players who have been incapped due to mind damage. If there is a way, please excuse my ignorance.


I don't think this will encroach on the Entertainer's territory, and I think it will make the game more realistic in an enjoyable way.


As a potential side benefit of giving medics this specific mind heal, could be in making Entertainers more valuable when adventuring out in the field. In my limited experience, a mind incap results in player death the majority of the time. Now the medics can run in, wake the player, and the player can then hustle back to an Entertainer-staffedcamp.
