Thread: Mind Healing Proposal...

Medics do need to be able to heal mindwounds (MW)!


Proposal :


- Only allow medic to heal MW during combat, (not incamps, not in cities or hospitals)or entertainers would be useless. Maybe allow medics to heal during 1 or 2 min after the battle is over or after a character had been incap. Need an entertainer in a camp or in a cantina to finish the job


- Only allow medics to heal MW not Willpower or Focus, not even BF


- Healing should be 2 times slower than any other wounds and / orcrafting MWpacks should need 2x resources than others packs needs.


- Maybe put a cap to the amount a medic can heal. Something like 33 to 75% of the full stat, depending on the skill of the medic and / or components used. This could reflect the consequences of the stress of the fight !


- Restrict this ability to Doctors or Combat Medic, one or both of them.


- Create some highly specialised medical droid module to enhance or prolong the duration of MW healing. Make those modules availableonly to higher level droid.


This way medics could happily heal all wounds and entertainers would still be very usefull.



I suggest too to remove deathblow with mind wounds, just let it incap a player.


Deathblow would need to reduce Healt or Action to Zero.


So PVP wont suffer as while a player is incap one can still hit (Health or Action) with some kind of double damage bonus and 100% hit chance to deathblow.

how would the game know if u were in combat or not...


i could be not shooting and healing a grp in combat...am i now in combat as well?


or what if im out of mind dont feel like waiting for it to regen so i shoot a gnort go into combat and heal my mind?


lots of exploits i can see...combat timers are always buggy..lag and various other issue will arise. Is a incap player who is bleeding from a mind bleed in or out of combat?!

Personally I like the idea of leaving the Mind Damage healing in the hands of the entertainers, along with the mind wound healing.


There was a suggestion over on the Entertainer forum regarding Hologram recordings, which when played healed your mind pool. No idea how to make this unexploitable (if indeed there is an issue with us Medics using the stuff ourselves).


Since they are an consumable resource created only by the Entertainer profession, it would add additional income to many impoverished entertainers, and provide a benefit in combat as well.


Similiarly it was suggested that these recordings be used in camp to heal BF. But I would rather see REAL entertainers fill the Battle Fatigue healing role.

Mind damage should be healed by...gasp...Squad Leaders.


It is the only missing link in the game and would be incredible use to an otherwise extremely underpowered class.

Well whoever heals it... There is a consensus that it SHOULD be healed.


Never even thought about Squad Leaders. You guys need to be more vocal.

actually i dont think it should be healed...


lol mind damage needs to be redesigned and removed...


adding healing to mind will not solve the issue


actually ti will open a huge list of other ones...


remove mind damage...make the effects of BF more pronounced


riflemen do massive damage to both H and A at the same time

I think you guys are making things over complicated. Just allow medic to heal mind damage and not allow them to heal their own mind damage. Stops them from infinate healing themselves because they cant heal themselves.

does stop 2 medics from infinately healing each other mind tho...


that means infinite healing...


thing is if its two classes working together to make infinately healing happen, its calls interdependance, but if its 2 of the same class doing its what i would consider an exploit...

Medics should not be able to heal either mind wounds or mind damage. Entertainers should get a way to heal mind damage in the field during battle. Whether this be a stim, an ability, or whatever.

Ask yourself if entertainers should be able to heal action and health wounds in a cantina? The two groups were designed with separate responsibilities, they are best kept that way!

agreed that entertainer should be the mind healers, but the devs have basically come out and said that wont happen...entertainers will remain in the cantina...


so if they wanna make this system work, the devs have to decided if mind is about physcial or mental damage. If its physical and targetable, 3 bar stims are needed by someone, most likely the CM (since docs already have a kind of a mind heal in the revive pack) who has no options to deal with mind damage. If its trauma then make it untargetable and a pure mana pool...


but they way the devs have it 1/2 a**ed now its not working
