This is to all my fellow medics in this game. DO NOT HEAL PEOPLE FOR FREE. We should not be spending time running delivry missions or sampling to make money. There should be no other skill tree required to be a medic. The people who have the injuries can make money while getting them so we should make money healing them. All medics no matter the skill level should be charging for heals. If you are low level 1 credit per wound sounds about right. Medium 2 High 3 and so on. As long is there are medics healing for free this will never be a money making profession on its own. I currently cannot make money as a medic I have to run destroy missions to pay for materials to make medicine to heal people for the occasional 25cr/50cr tip. We spend more than entertainers and get paid less. If we all charged then they would all be paying instead of waiting in the 10 person line for the medic that heals for free.

Hell hath no fury like a womans scorn for SWG

1. Dude...if you wanted to be rich you picked the wrong profession...

2.Don't tell me how to play. I'll heal for free if I want...

3.Charge for healing, fine with me...Just more xp for me.

4.When you need to train, I'll most definately ask you to pay me to train in skills then...

Conclusion...

Just heal and have fun...you want money? Make an architect...

Oh well I guess socialized healthcare is the what SWG runs on. Im too used to doctors actually making money in real life. Time to drop medic and stick to BH I guess. BTW my intentions are not to be rich. They are to play a medic without running delivery missions for 2 - 3 hours a day.

Shock...SWG isnt the real world...

I heal cuz I want to help people. Actually it helps that there are people like you who insist on being charged...Ppl tend to tip me more, just because I didn't ask for money...

Besides I have to craft to raise crafting xp and what the hell am I gonna do with 20-30 packs of wound med packs?

Might as well heal...

Just out of curiosity, do you EVER do any surveying? You wouldn't believe what you acn find out there beyond the med center walls. If you're actually PAYING the insane prices for materials at the bazaar, you might do well to invest some $$ in novice Artisan & a Flora survey tool.

just my .02 creds...

I think the patients should tip you whenever they like, in fact I really earned a lot through healing other people. Nevertheless I skilled Surveying in order to be able to craft my own medicine. I even like doing something else sometimes ... so why not do missions from time to time, I want to earn Factionpoints too, so there is no other way, even if I would earn enough money from healing other people.

I'm not in a PA, but I don't have a resource problem or a money problem. I usually get enough in tips by healing people for "free" that I don't really need to run missions unless I really need a lot of cash for a particular item. If I do, then there are missions which I can use ramp up my cash fairly quickly. I have a med droid that I use to heal wounds on people around town. I do this mainly for the xp, but I typically get much more in tips doing this than I do sitting in the Med Center. It seems people are more willing to tip/pay someone that heals out of kindness/courtesy than they are to people that demand payment up front. Heck, I've had people track me down from halfway across town just to tip me when I had healed them while they were AFK.

The point is that I'm making a living healing for "free". Why should I start "charging" and reduce my income level?

ok, Maybe outta place to speak here, but it's my 2 Cr's

I am a Creature Handler by profession and a novice (hopefully to become Master) medic by choice. After I have spent a few hours killing my way to the next Ch level. I am burned out and want a little relief so I wander in the local Clinic and heal the random wanderer that stops by. MOST of the time, I am the only one in there, If not and a Doc or CM or other professed medic is in there, I'll even ask if they need a hand. NEVER have I asked for tips nor will I ever. I heal others because I enjoy hanging out and helping others. Have I been tipped? Yep and darn good at times. I thanked them profusely. For those that didn't tip, I wished a safe journey and moved on to others. There have been times when I came in with wounds, merely to heal myself and been attended to by others and I tip them. one Doc I made Woundpack B's for in exchange for training. Worked out good for him and me.

You want to charge for Heals/woundtending go for it? You will lead a quiet and bored life. Want to help others and be thankful for what you get? I wish you the best and will be sure to tip you. Come into a clinic where I am hanging out and tell people you Charge and I will be sure to tell them I will do it for Free. 10,000's cr's says I make more than you will.

Good Luck

Let's get them healed and on the road to come back with more wounds

I agreewith nll on the free healing.I guess this is why I also picked a combat medic and also stay as far away from the medical center as possible as of late. There is a massive economoy in SWG and healing should be part of it in my opinion. But hey, if you want touse up your resources for free, it's your choice and I respect that.

If I need healing XP I goto the entertainers and give them some lovin, at least they don't demand it for free like the beggers in the medical center.

in all fairness, everyone should tip for healing, it is a valuable service for the rest of us. And if they want to charge, no big deal, it's fair

i usually don't have that much damage, but i'll tip 100-200 everytime i go.

> DO NOT HEAL PEOPLE FOR FREE

Why? I've had a house given to me, I've had thousands in tips, I've been given resources, all kinds of things. I haven't run a mission in 4 days. Why stop a good thing with fees? If you're having financial issues, sell items at the bazaar.
